I'm going to make this for the baseball players in my family. The hook & loop is perfect for baseball gloves and I'll make sure the bag is big enough for bats. Love your tutorials. Would love to see the lined version.
Pick a waterproof ripstop nylon. Horses can get slobbery. Now you know you've got a market, go for canvas outer, so the mud can be hosed off. Also, think about colour as a brand identifier, we'll have you up to your armpits in dye yet!
I made my first harness bag for a friend who has horses, and she loved it. I'm still very new to sewing, my first time doing zippers. Thank you, Thank you for your videos!
I made 2 of the bridle bags today. First time with upholstery fabric. First time putting a zipper together. The first one made me wish I hadn’t started but the second was 10 times easier! Your tips are spot on! I’d like to make a suit bag soon. Hint hint! ❤
This really highlights the importance of your name tag,in my opinion your tag makes this bag look like it’s come from a high end supplier. Lovey video, easy to follow. I could watch you all day Christine! 🌹x
Christine, this would be great for bridal veils, both travel and storage and it's the perfect time of year to reach those customers. Check into selling through bridal shops.😀
Scaled down a little, these would be great for dog owners, too. Leashes through the loop so they don't tangle. Collars/harnesses in the bottom, with the zipper tab at the top (so the collars wouldn't fall out getting at the leashes). Sell them as a set with the poop bags? Thanks, Christine!
This is a great idea Xoom Bug. I'm trying to visualise what exactly you mean. Email me if you have a visual in mind 😁 I'm up for the challenge! stitchthisnagambie@gmail.com
This is perfect for a tracking harness bag! I do tracking with my dogs and will be making myself one as well as one for a friend for a Christmas gift, hers will be lined. Thanks for sharing.
When I bought my horse saddle I purchased stirrup covers which were little drawstring bags to protect the leather. Apparently a young girl made them for her so this is perhaps something you could make to sell too?
I would loved having this bag for my rope when traveling to the competitions. Lets not talk about the different belts I took to completions. Also my gloves would have fit nicely at the bottom.
I'll definitely be making one of these for my granddaughter to use for her pony's bridle when she's going to Pony Club or events, thank you Christine xxx
Thank you for this tutorial, I am going to give this a try, I'll have to come up with a price and hopefully I can sell some. We'll see. Thanks again for this
A lined version would be fantastic. I tried to do it, thinking I knew what I was doing, but got stuck with the handles and how to get that right. This bag is awesome!!! Made one for my Mom to match her bridles. She absolutely loves it. Lots of room!!
Deanna, here's the lined version. Make up the bridle bag according to the video instructions for sizing and handles, and do the lining the same as in this link. ruclips.net/video/4fdveR0wD5g/видео.html 😀
This kind of bag could be one of those new bags that hang in front with the right kind of strapping. This size would be too big. Also with a couple of quick pockets in a lining, it would be more useful as a front fanny bag.
The zip should be slightly over the usual #5, a more robust pull will suit the size. Pick a #8, I'd suggest, as this is a larger bag. For a really pro finish, use double-width zipper staples to hold the ends together, and trim the teeth away for at least the seam allowance, there's nothing worse than breaking a needle on a hidden zipper tooth.
I think this is wonderful! I can see myself making several for friends birthdays. Would you have time to show us your lined version? Thank you, Sandy, from Alaska
It looks like a small Band uniform bag, or formal suit/dress bag. It may not be very hard to enlarge this pattern to meet the need for making garment storage/travel bags in the correct sizes needed. The hardest part may be finding the correct fabric, zippers, and other items needed to buy.
That's another great idea Arvetta. This fabric would work as suit bags, and zippers I purchase by the roll. I'm thinking that the loop inside should be more narrow and shorter to hold hanger in place, and then a slit at the top. Hmm, now I have to make one🤔🤪
It's called continuous zipper tape. You can get it in varied sizes. Some come with the sliders, but check when ordering in case you hve to purchase them seperately. I usually ourchase a few hundred sliders, and 100 metre roll of tape😊
Hi Sarah. I did a lined version of this bag on a smaller scale that you can follow. Just use the same dimensions. The only problem is that the strap hanging on the inside means you can't close the raw edges on the inside😀
Love this and made a couple, thank you for an excellent pattern and tutorial 🙂 Is there a video for a lined version? If so can you post the link? Thank you so much 🙂👍
CR, I did a lined version a couple of weeks ago. Here's the link. ruclips.net/video/4fdveR0wD5g/видео.html Use the same dimensions in the bridle bag video, and the lining method from this link,. 😀
@@ChristinesHomeAffairs thank you. I had a look before asking but just couldn't find it. I made an original one and it turned out great 🙂 I am now going to make the lined version. Once again thank you so much 🙂👍
Thank you for this video. I was wondering if you have a video with the lining as I would like to use printed cotton and need to make it a little sturdier. I was also wondering if I could use like a fusible interfacing or a decor bond to make the cotton fabric sturdier. And if I do so would I still need a lining? thank you so much for all your help
Sabrina, if you use a cotton, you'll most likely want to stabilise it, then also line it. I did a similar video that was lined but much smaller. Than may work, but you'd need to do the internal loop separately. ruclips.net/video/x3Viri90wso/видео.htmlsi=v4PcXRvfqw3dqLNm
We raise and show Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs, which can weigh up to an eye-popping 150 pounds. I want to make a couple of these bags for their leashes as well as harnesses. As the breed are traditionally farm and draught dogs, we do harness them to carts for special events, farmers market shopping, etc. Also, our dog handlers have quite a bit of tack that they need while showing dogs, so that is also a good sales opportunity. Yes, it’s a niche, but dog owners and handlers can be just as demanding about their equipment as horse owners. Additionally, I have a mobility assistance service dog - who just happens to be a Swissy, also - and her harness and specialty leash (which I designed and had made by a Kentucky saddle maker) cost me well over $700 US. I’m going to design and make one of these bags for her harness and leash. This bag is a superb and solidly-built design, and is extremely adaptable. Thank you!
@@ChristinesHomeAffairs oh I totally understand! Especially now after surgery. It’s all good, I found a lined version that works for me, but of course I come to you first 😜
@@ChristinesHomeAffairs I currently have a very basic Janome i am have trouble sewing through multiple layers especially on corners. I love your video. I do have a question what are the measurements of your labels where do you get them from. In past videos you mention that you order them. They make a huge difference thank you

You're welcome Marianne. I've just added my suppiers list in the comments section for you. They're all available online, so shouldn't be a problem for you to get them to your location. 😀 The strapping is much better quality that that from Ebay as well as being Australian made.
Winter is almost over here. It's time to store boots for the summer. Perfect for tall boots.

@@ChristinesHomeAffairs oh I totally understand! Especially now after surgery. It’s all good, I found a lined version that works for me, but of course I come to you first 😜
Technically, to shift it up a level, press the folds and cover the ends in bias tape, so the edges are buried.
Good idea Rahere 😀
