    loving your videos, just in the process of planning my van and you help with what and how i do this as on a very tight budget. how much carpet have you used as planning to use this. look forward to more videos specially the electrics as very nervous about this part. oh and briliant paint job.

      Bought two rolls in the end and have most of the second left over. Link for where we purchased it from down in the description if you're interested.

    Here's an idea, if the fridge gets hot, why not put two fans and ducts one to external (For summer) and the second to vent it into the van for a heat source? switch between the two fans, could even use a thermostat in the van to automatically change over when the van is up to temp.

    • @PilgrimPods
      @PilgrimPods  2 года назад

      Hey Malcolm, thanks for taking the time to share this advice. You've definitely given me something to think about! If I do it I'll certainly credit you with the idea!

    You've really inspired me to do my own build, I'm not gonna go as fancy as you so gonna go for a stealth camper approach

    • @PilgrimPods

      Hey Larry, glad you found the video of use. I have to say if I built another campervan solely for UK use I'd seriously consider a stealth build too. 🙂👍

      Thanks Arno, sorry for the slow reply mate. I've bought the cheapish Bosch one as I like the brand and it has good reviews for DIYers. Just chucked a link in the description for the exact model. I purchased it because I thought it would come in useful for the cabinetry and there's been times working on the house in the past one would have came in really useful and I've just bodged a workaround (like on the batten at the head of the bed in this video). All the best mate. 🙂🍻

    Do you really want a radiant heat source under your bed mattress? In summer your van will be hot enough at night without your fridge heating up your bed, not to mention fire risk! Should raise the fridge off the floor by at least 20mm as well to let the cool fresher air in and exhaust out via the holes at the top (convection)!!

    • @PilgrimPods
      @PilgrimPods  3 года назад +1

      Hey Glen, ideally the fridge wouldn't be under the bed but we felt it was a compromise we had to make for our needs. The heat generated will be monitored and if need be a sheet of insulation will be placed above the fridge. If there was still any concern I'll install a couple of PC fans to move the air and aid efficiency of the fridge; it won't be a fire risk. The fridge doesn't need a 20mm gap beneath it and was installed following the manufacturer's instructions. Thanks for checking the video out mate. 🙂🍻

    How much is your camper insurance please.

    • @PilgrimPods
      @PilgrimPods  2 года назад

      Cost £199 fully comp for a 2007 van. Think that's with 8 years no claims and parked on a drive. Of course there's so many variables to consider as I'm sure you're aware; the postcode being an example! 😄
