Namath the man. Hey. What he endured no QB today has. Back then the NFL just cold. Allowing bounties. Head hunting. You name it. Amazing he survived. If he played with today's pro QB rules we'd be talking multiple rings. Respect.
Namath is such a decent person. He made me just see what trivial things I have as complaints. I need to appreciate how good I have it and work at solving my problems. And, also, recognizing what I consider a real problem.
This guy really knows how to do interviews... I don't think I've ever heard him interrupt anyone... he asks really good questions... and he really listens to what they're saying... and you can usually tell that by his response to what they just said ... he seems to do is homework and comes prepared. Why in the world CAN'T most other people do interviews like this gentleman ? Some of them are horrendous , with interrupting and cutting them off at the best parts.
@@brucekielty8180 yep but they are getting rarer . And especially with real news out there it seems the people who are supposed to be interviewing and asking questions and have the nerve to call themselves journalists really are clueless nowadays
You know, it's no secret that I think Namath is the greatest NFL legend of all time..... But I have to add, Graham Bensinger HAS TO BE the greatest living interviewer........ Very, very well done, Mr. Bensinger. Much respect. Thank you.
I hated him when he was playing. I was a Colts fan after all. He's one of the best interviews BY FAR of the retired players. Especially after he dealt with recovery from alcoholism.
Like anyone else I would like to hear this dude tell the stories of yesterday. The personalities he knew over the years , to bad he couldn't get a gig with ESPN sharing stories of back in the day.

Lol it’s insane how far we’ve come. Back then you could literally get concussed in the first half, smoke a dart or two during half time in the locker room and continue to play another 2Q of football. Ah America 🇺🇸
Dang Joe, you knew better than to let your guard down when you were playing against the Silver and Black back in those days. They weren't playin', LOL! Those were the days when the NFL played "REAL FOOTBALL"....not like today. Love the way you tell these stories, so funny! Glad you made it "out" w/o too many bad injuries, we both know it could have been a lot worse. I was an avid fan back in those days, gooooooo Raiders, but now that they've changed the rules/regs so much due to safety precautions it just ain't the same (but I don't wanna see anybody get badly hurt like they used to either).
I'm glad nobody mentions his interview wanting to kiss Suzy Kolber. Joe was remorseful, and his behavior was basically harmless. Suzy said so herself. Everyone judging him probably did much worse, just no one saw it. Joe is cooler with each passing year.
Graham, talk about an amazing interview. All your interviews are amazing. I have to say this is an incredible channel. How far in advanced are these interviews typically planned out in advanced, in terms of when you first reach out to them or their agent/PR, etc., person?
The game didnt get softer, the money got better and the player is an enterprise that must take care of themselves. If Joe was making money like the top quarterbacks or even some backup quarterbacks such as chase daniels or mccown, he wouldnt play thru those injuries. And it is the players right to choose not to and their right to get paid what they get paid.
I am so glad I stopped after high school. At near 60 I am still paying for that. I didn't love in spite of my ability and I wanted to play baseball and golf. No regrets.
Joe Willie white shoes is a mans man. ALL those hits were part of the game. It's almost like a badge of honor. You KNOW the opposing team is wanting to knock you out because if they don't, they KNOW they are going to lose because of you. YOU gonna beat them in spite of the hits. Tough bastard. Made them that way in Pennsylvania in those steel towns. PITTSBURG and Beaver Falls. Thanks Joe for years of great football!!

I'm glad Broadway Joe didn't become Hollywood Joe and get a fake face like so many do, looks great, glad his body carried him through fairly well. The advantages the players have nowadays not to mention the money, well, you know.
Positive attitude.....impressive!
Love you Joe always my hero

Joe is just damn likeable! As an Alabama man, I feel like I know him. God blessed us with Joe.
Joe Namath was SO attractive. Even as an older man. And a loveable personality.
"it was a wonderful hit, I couldn't breathe" almost died still a good hit
I remember that '69 Denver game.As I recall ,Joe threw a TD the next play.
Love Joe and he was before my time(1988) but I love football and watch film closely and he definitely could play.
I hated him when he was playing. I was a Colts fan after all. He's one of the best interviews BY FAR of the retired players. Especially after he dealt with recovery from alcoholism.
He said something I always say, " I don't complain cause it could be worse" amen
I agree. None of those damn snowflake players we have to deal with today. Bunch of sissies.

My favorite player. God bless Joe, I hope he lives a long & happy life.

Would LOVE to hang out with Broadway Joe.
Joe looks great for real.
Joe Namath ,was the first Super ,Super ,Super ,Star ..Took the NFL to another Level .
