I heard Joe say in this interview not this particular clip that “I may be a slow learner but gosh I’ve learned” He is the true meaning of a guy of wisdom and life experience.. I can listen to him speak about anything for hours… Very knowledgeable and humble
Worked with Joe in television for several years outside of football in the 1980's. A true gentlemen and professional in every way. He is every bit the warm person you see in these interviews.
Was so polite and gracious in 1969 when he was such a super star. He was so nice to my friends and me when we were starstruck 19 year olds asking him for his autograph. Sounds like he is still gracious and humble. What a prince!
Great Interview of what a Pro Football Player is supposed to be. In his time he could not be touched- the Jets were the team to beat. A class act whose demeanor and sense of teamwork will go down in history as one of the greatest!
When I was a kid in NYC, I was far to busy running from or to the cops to take interest in sports, but I was well aware of Joe Namath. He was everywhere on media. His sport is still an enigma to me. I’m far better at trigonometry and I don’t know what that is either. It’s not exagerration to say Mr Namath was more famous than the. Beatles. After watching this show I am so impressed by his authentic personality. The gift of experience is the wisdom it brings to mind.. If you are fulfilling your destiny, I imagine that wisdom is expressed as Joe Namath does here in gentle harmony. I worked as a head bartender at Studio 54 in NYC. in its heyday. I’ve met countless legends. I have dated a few too..Namath is on my short list of people I would love to meet. It’s a very list; Joe Namath, Lady Diana, Rumi, Khalil Gabron, Paulo Cuello and Jesus. If I ever reach Joe Namath’s age (although he is still in his prime and I may be older), and age as beautifully as he is, I’ll be walking on sunshine too. The guy has it all.
It was the mid 60`s Ala. was in atlanta playing Ga. Tech. "JN" was hurt & steve sloan was playing close to 1/2 time score 0-0, in come "JB" in 2 1/2 minutes "JB" threw two touchdown passes, Ga Tech was never the same, loss the game !!! was unbelievable !!!!
I could actually see him playing Southern lawyer Atticus Finch in a remake or Broadway version of To Kill a Mockingbird... he has the voice it's so powerful and dramatic and even though he's from Pennsylvania it has a slight Southern Quality to it
Actually Joe wasn't "Bama made"....he did play for the Crimson Tide, and Paul "Bear"Bryant did have a huge impact on his life but Joe is actually a Yankee....he's from Beaver Falls Pennsylvania, and Bama wasn't his first choice....Maryland was.
Great story……as a young firefighter a senior Captain asked me if I knew the “ 6 P’s”, I said no sir.He then said the 6P’s are PRIOR PREPARATION PREVENTS PISS POOR PERFORMANCE ! Never forgot that lesson, just like Namath never forgot Coach Bryant’s talk
Ian Fitzharris He's one of those people with a powerful speaking voice.. Even though he's from PA he almost has a Southern accent and I could actually picture him playing a powerful lawyer in the south especially like in the 1950s or in a movie like. To Kill a Mockingbird I really truly can see him playing Atticus Finch wearing a pale colored suit walking into that courtroom with a loud dramatic forceful voice.
@@gardensofthegods Yes, but when you spend years on the football field trying to communicate above roaring crowds and across many yards of ground, you learn to talk loud. You don't have a choice.

I think I could watch Joe being interviewed for hours and time would fly. He's so interesting and enthusiastic.
I love how he attributes his skills and instincts to his coaching and practice. That’s a humble man
Listening to Joe is a pleasure.

Joe is a class-act.
Joe was the man in '69, and he still is.
Great Interview of what a Pro Football Player is supposed to be. In his time he could not be touched- the Jets were the team to beat. A class act whose demeanor and sense of teamwork will go down in history as one of the greatest!
He is everything we say he is! This girl from Alabama has followed him for years and loves him! Roll Tide Joe💕

He is such a cool guy !
I don't think I've ever heard any of Bear Bryant's former players show anything but respect for him.
I could listen to him for hours! I wish the Bear was still here
Gotta love Joe
A VERY interesting guy...and I mean that in a good way.
He's in great shape for 74 years old.
Wonderful conversation right here.
Awesome!! Joe has great fire/passion.
The man is a national treasure
Joe Namath, Lessons on how to Take It Like A Man! 💪👊

Since he’s Joe, will give him that much southern roots, love that drawl
Great interview portion on tempo
Joe is spot on though.

@@tidefanyankee2428 And when he didn't get into Maryland, the coach turned him onto Alabama because he never wanted to play against him.
Fun and informative to listen to.

Wise Joe
Can’t believe he is 76, he looks 46!
If you look like that at 46, somethings wrong.
@@abc456f I'd worked with many people who'd looked older than they actually were.
jets organization must have a namath attitude to win
Joe is hot, even at 76!
Ole Joe. Sad to see. Old broken sports stars are unbelievably sad, but ole Joe is at the top of that heap.
I guarantee Joe isn't watching Tik Toc dance tutorials like you are ...Only an emasculated fruitcake would do that.
I came here to see Joe Namath. Not Harrison Ford.
If he only had knees
Joe is loud.
