When I hear that song it's like I'm almost dead reminiscing about my regrets. I'm almost dead, but maybe I wish I had died. This makes me feel like a lot of things in life have gone wrong and I'm just laying in bed contemplating all my mistakes and what I could do better, maybe some past lovers pain or even just the pain of missing someone who passed. Definitely a sense of longing too. I love both of the versions
