Universal Pictures will release Trancas International Films, Blumhouse Productions and Miramax’s Halloween on Friday, October 19, 2018.
Jamie Lee Curtis returns to her iconic role as Laurie Strode, who comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.
Master of horror John Carpenter executive produces and serves as creative consultant on this film, joining forces with cinema’s current leading producer of horror, Jason Blum (Get Out, Split, The Purge, Paranormal Activity). Inspired by Carpenter’s classic, filmmakers David Gordon Green and Danny McBride crafted a story that carves a new path from the events in the landmark 1978 film, and Green also directs.
Halloween is also produced by Malek Akkad, whose Trancas International Films has produced the Halloween series since its inception, and Bill Block (Elysium, District 9). In addition to Carpenter and Curtis, Green and McBride will executive produce under their Rough House Pictures banner. Ryan Freimann also serves in that role.

Halloween stand up More as a filmaking piece rather than scary Flick, you can see the original and go meh that wasn't scary, but the camera work, the brocking, the lighting, the pacing everything about the original was groundbreaking at the Time, and its still serves as inspiration for latter horror movies (such as the babadook). Sadly after carperters leave the franchise the series put More focus in the Gore, boring retcons (oh so laurie Is Michael's sister thats convenient) and in cheep filmaking techniques.... Im looking at you Rob zombie, and your parkinson camera man too... I hope this new entry bring back the series to their roots and focus More in mistery and subtle scares.
True. But I'd rather the trailer not have the typical scare so it will be a surprise in the theater. Alot of horror movies show too much in their trailers and it's not even fun once you go see it. This does look promising though, cant wait to see it.

Ever since Halloween (2018) came out, slasher movies have really been revitalised, and ironically seem to be copying how Halloween (2018) used the same title as it's original, Candyman did it, scream is doing it and now Texas chainsaw massacre is doing it, honestly I think we owe it to Halloween (2018) for bringing the genre back and should respect that film a lot more now.

Just to make things clear for some of the people that are confused.
Laurie Strode is still alive because this takes place after the 1978 movie. It's a direct sequel to the original. None of the other movies matter here. They're making it that the original film had a different ending and Michael was captured that night, 40 years ago and has been in prison ever since. He is no longer Laurie's brother. That storyline started in Halloween II (1981). Also the OG actor that played 'The Shape' Nick Castle appears in only one scene. It's the window scene when Laurie first sees him.

Having said that, the only thing I wish it hadn't done was erase the brother and sister story set up in Halloween II. I love Halloween II and this movie has now retconned it. Frankly, it didn't seem necessary to erase that. This movie could have easily been a sequel to Halloween II.

I grew up on Halloween, coming out on my 8th birthday. It literally scared the shit out of me for years decades and that of my entire generation. Back then you could be left at home alone at night without your parents or a baby sitter and it was totally legal, creepy doors, shutters, storms, backyards, garages, real Halloween nights with getting apples being laced with razor blades, howling winds, real serial killers every night on the news, real killings, real kids living this, so Halloween is a truly special film series that speaks to an entire Generation of audiences, shaping them. Terrifying them, giving them nightmares and memories forever and wherever. There was nothing but horror film after horror film from the late 70's thru the 80's because of this movie. It had a huge effect on millions of kids and I think it shaped an entire generation unlike the Millennials of today who had none of that and are so f'd up today. This was a great movie, great filmmaking, great acting, great horror scenes. Go see it. I know millions of Gen X'rs will for sure!!! Can't wait to see it again. Definitely had a hard time sleeping afterwards, the images and violence is so incredibly real and I've worked with and cut up dead bodies in autopsies and surgeries and seen and worked with tons of blood, brains, and guts and real fucking real scary real viciously violent evil psychos in real life. Every scene is very authentic, creepy AF and simply awesome all around. Can't wait for the sequel. Just gets better and better. Turned my interest in all the old horror films that I avoided because this one in 1978 scared me shitless, turned it on wide open. All the classic Horror films are great and this series is the best! This movie is more about the generational trauma that haunts victims. People who don't understand that and are quite immature are the ones who didn't like it. It's great. It's real and it's scary and it's fulfilling for anyone who has lived a full life, especially well-developed women. The losers who didn't like it wouldn't know a good movie if they saw one and are big infantile boys still wearing diapers and thumb-sucking. You want to know what's scary? Talk to trauma victims. Talk to gunners from OEF/OIF who are haunted by the ghosts of the Iraqi's they killed. Talk to Vietnam Vets who were mole rats and who can kill you with their bare hands. Talk to psychos who you can see nothing but pure menacing coldness and evil in their eyes. The way they move and stab you. This movie is all that and is fucking real, fucking poignant and simply the best, full circle. Wait til you live some of these scenes in real life and you will know what disturbing and scary is. This movie won't get your adrenaline flowing externally but will disturb you internally. It's like a rounded out, smoothed out, shaved down Halloween targeting much bigger audiences. It's the haunting imagery afterwards that gets you WHEN you LEAVE the theater. Great movie! Go see it. The theater was fully packed and that has happened in three decades.

The scary thing about this trailer is that it shows that this time Michael doesn't need a reason to kill anyone.
And before any of you start, I've seen all of the films, and if you know your history you know how horrible they are and that's why I made my point here.
He never had no reason in the original.
Which is why the original was so great. I still stand by the fact that giving him a reason for being their in the sequel was a stupid decision.

It was a really good horror film for being made in 2018 I must say. Most horror movies for the past `18 years or more have really been a disaster.

Well... I would say that even if it did, it wouldn't technically be the one to originate this new wave of slashers, it would be Scre4m. That was the first one to say, "Fuck the hip 90's reboots, Fuck the edgy 2000's reboots, we just want it like the golden age of slashers." It was then followed by Curse and Cult of Chucky, and one or two Blumhouse flicks that I haven't seen, but definitely exists
It won't entirely, I mean look at Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th and Scream, their sequels killed their franchises, Halloween's just got worse after Part 5 and gradually let it down, but this one is going back to the roots, including a ton of easter eggs that is for hardcore fans and getting new fans in the process

Stuck in his head ever since the night he killed, Judith. He pets the girls face in the Spanish trailer..He must think that this young girl is also Judith. Time means nothing to him..he doesn't understand, minutes, hours, days, OR years.
I think he wants Laurie because she's THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY. She also seemed to become his target after dropping the key off at his house, when he was inside and saw her. He seemed to take on some fascination with her, even stalking her while she was at school as well as little Tommy Doyle who was with her when she dropped the key off.
