What a saga! I live in Lisbon and this is why we just fly. The trains and buses from here to say, France, are a nightmare and I cannot manage the stress and being so tired. And then the Olympics got everything even more chaotic.
I am glad you got to visit Alentejo and the beautiful untouched beaches of western Algarve, the ones not accessible by car. Actually those are my two favorite areas to spend holidays in Portugal.
I hope you managed to enjoy Lisbon center despite the hordes of tourists that usually now invade it.

Lia, so happy to see you in familiar locations of my little country. 🇵🇹
Hope you had a nice time, enjoyed your birthday and that those lost trains and extra adventures turn into funny stories in the future.
    Hugs from Lisbon 🥰

Beautiful scenery Lia, loved the isolated beach. Although the traveling seemed rather draining. Hope your next travels run more smoothly xx

😅 omg the anxiety of watching you losing trains and non existent buses! I recognized some of the places you've been in Portugal (portuguese subscriber here 🙋‍♀) Hope you had a great time on this tiny country that has so much to see and offer!

Yes, the traveling was a bit exhausting this time! And I loved Portugal! We were in Ovar, Evora, Evora Monte (and a Campground nearby), in Salema and the beaches around and Seixal close to Lisboa (which we visited twice) but there are so many more places! I would have loved to experience more of the northern part of the country and also more of the coast (basically everything 😂)

@@ecofriendlia get in touch if you decide to visit again 😊 i am at the south bay Area of Lisbon. Setúbal is also nice for visiting (pretty beaches) as well as Sesimbra. Alentejo is very pretty but harder to find transportation 😬 Dornes and everything around Zêzere is also beautiful but, again, very hard to visit without a car. Perhaps Aveiro and Costa Nova, Nazaré are also good choices. And Algarve, and the North... and serra da estrela 😅 we have so many diferent landscapes for such a small country. I forgot Sintra! That is a must visit!

What beautiful sights you saw along the way on your adventure! I would have been beyond stressed with all those transportation changes. The parts of Portugal you visited looked gorgeous, I hope that if you ever return there you will visit the northern part of the country or perhaps even cross over the border into my homeland Galicia. (I know you like hiking so I wonder if you've ever considered doing the Camino de Santiago? The Portuguese route perhaps.) Thank you for sharing your adventure with us.

The Portuguese side of travel went super well (except for one taxi drive), even though they were on strike and I mean, it is part of traveling that things go wrong 😊 I loved our time in Portugal and I really want to come back and spend more time!

Wow the fact that you managed to bring those ceramics without breaking them is amazing. So I am guessing you need a new sleeping pad:)

I‘m glad you enjoyed your holiday!! It would not have suited me, I must say 🫣
I travel to Brittany 1-2x each year (you would really enjoy the rocks & sea there, I think, not many tourists!) and this year I avoided Paris like the plague bc of the Olympics and took a route past Tours instead… 😉 (It‘s actually got a LOT of history, the whole region does and it‘s the gateway to the beautiful castles of the Loire valley…). And yes, some of the TGV stations are very oddly located 😮🇫🇷
I really enjoyed a quite short stay around Sintra out of season a few years ago, it‘s nice and green unlike the Algarve, but of course everyone has different tastes. Southern Europe is way too hot for me in summer!!

Those bowls are beautiful! Do you usually travel with snacks? I feel like I sometimes overpack them so I'd love to know your perspective.

Hope you don't mind me saying this, but ceramic is pronounced 'seramic'. And they're beautiful pieces.🌻

Would renting a car make more sense? Seems like quite a hussle the travel situation... :)

    • @ecofriendlia
      @ecofriendlia  4 месяца назад +8

It could and we thought about. But there were reasons against it 😊 and I honestly also like navigating the whole public transport situation in different countries and it's more sustainable. This time it was just a little extra complicated but this could also happen with other parts of traveling 😊

Love the content. You talk about your child and your boyfriend in one of your first videos. What is the reason they are not portrayed in your videos? Can you elaborate more about the why? Love!
