I was thinking the same thing and was fixing to mention that. Something like the older stingrays used. It might have to be a bigger pipe though. If it would work a huge chrome side pipes would look great though.
I personally don’t think the rub rails (side bars) would look that great. As a last resort I’d consider side pipes ( kinda Corvette style) with nice shrouds on them. I like your idea best of sectioning the doors to fill the gap. Keep up the good work!!!
I agree with you. I've actually been thinking that the whole time. I'm not a Ford guy but I do like the old mustangs and think it would look great on his car.
i was going to mention that as well, it would look kind of silly with nerf bars, side pipes and sheet metal to cover that gap or making the doors longer to fill the gap could🤷🏽♂look right.
Yeah that's the same thing I thought, kinda no different than Eleanor from Gone In 60 Seconds! The side pipes would help to hide/ camouflage the rockers.
Missouri has morphed into only three seasons: Hot, Wet, Cold. Any of the three can show up at any time throughout the year, all three happen in the same day frequently...From one of your neighbors down in Springfield...
I have a 1950 Dodge Wayfarer 2 door with a 79 Z28 subframe 383 Stroker, TH 350, 10 bolt posi. The most creative part is the fully functional Lexus interior IE the front seats console folding rear seats and back dash with seatbelts. I absolutly love your builds!
This car is going to be awesome. I like the idea of the side bars better than a section job, but you do what you decide will work the best. Everyone will have a different opinion anyway, and it is going to look the best how you decide it should look. Our weather has been crazy here in Missouri, that is for sure. Cold to hot and back again. It is raining away today, as I am watching your cool video on this build. I am looking forward to seeing the Coyote engine in it and the rest of the build. You have a lot to do, but I am confident that you will get it done in time for the Holley show. Have a blessed week.
Hmmm....i'd probably section doors and skins only? Possible? Cowl at bottom of windshield that's an issue for original windshield. Good Job so far ....it still runs that's a plus.
Funny my wife of 37 years has always wanted an old mustang I’m thinking it’s not going to happen as I retire in less than a year and even though she is now better from her stroke and driving and all she can’t work . Need to hit the lottery. Keep up the good work young man
One idea on the rocker panel. Hard to describe. Cut into the rocker on the chasis like 2" up from the bottom and as you cut in deeper, taper downward. So the rocker tapers thinner as it comes to the body. It might not be doable, lose too much structure?
Thought: How about either fake or real "Side Pipes"? It would make up the space from the 65 rocker to the other Mustang's rocker. Or you could do the valve thing again. You could hide the regular exhaust, have the Side Pipes, flip a switch and the noise comes out the Side Pipes(With No Mufflers). It would be way better then a slider. What do you think?
I just got my dodge magnum back ( paid 600 for a guy to mess my car up even more long story) I'm really excited to work on it and get it going again after watching you and puddin's fab shop and other youtubers. Thanks for the motivation man
cut the new models rockers all the way up to the floorboard, and just tie the frame together with heavy square tubing. love this build can't wait to see what you come up with.
Idea. What about not lowering the car, maybe even lifting it.. Oversized mud tires. Gambler 500, mad max look. Then the rock sliders look more fitting. I did this with an old Lincoln Mark VII. I love how it looks, but I am biased.
I think you had the right idea when you said that you should section the car and make it longer to cover the rockers and then your windshield would fit right and the rockers would be covered. sure you would have to make your doors wider also but it would be a beast and all fit right so when you take it to Holley everyone would love it. Keep up the great work and God Bless you and your family.
yeah after going with a bunch of people I think you had to put a set of pipes up on the side there and see what it looks like you don't like it throwing them off.
Could you do some big ass side pipes in the rockers to cover up the height problem? Another thing is if you built it with bigger tires, kinda Gambler style would help alot of the problems!!!
Nice work, you could always leave the mustang at the current height and make it look like an off road / rally car. You could put really wide mud tires with mild flares and then add the step bar to fill in the rocker panel and add a mild brush guard with round fog lights. Matchbox made a similar off road mustang that you can look at if you want to see a reference. Thanks for posting your videos and sharing with the community.
If that old pinch weld drops way below the floor you can cut away all the material from the floor pan down then add back a piece of angle iron 1/8" by say 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" from the floor up to simulate the look of a pinch weld the roll sheet metal up from the top flange of the angle iron to the bottom of the door to remake a rocker. I have done it with LX platforms when putting Gen 2 Chargers on and had the same issue.
I approve of you trying your hardest keeping the dash intact and busting out those wheel wells. Rocking your own merch is a lot better than that old burnt beat up black hoodie.
I was thinking that you can actually try to make the rear quarter panel like the Porsche with the new quarter panel that you got. Make it with an air scoop “look” like the Porsche’s rear fender. Just a thought, so you can get that wider look.
I like your “reverse section” idea better than deep rockers or rock sliders. I think it would look great and not draw the eye downward. The deep rockers on modern retro cars like the Challenger kill it for me. Whatever you do will kick ass, that is certain.
That's a crazy amount of cutting. I was thinking blacked out side pipes as well. It might make it easier to lower as well. Nice work Casey! Cheers and Beers 🍺🍺.
I can't wait to see what you come up with about lowering it. Seems like the new body floors are going to be hitting the ground before the 65 looks as low as it should.
I am so happy to see your Panzer and Mustang builds. I’m more of a sports car fan. Yes I agree the huge rocker panel thing under the mustang doors looks like 💩on 🔥………🖖🏼👽
When you say you might have to widen the body I get real interested. I think that is a great way to go the car can be wider, to bad you hate doing it. I think that is a cool way to fit it in. See your adding tubing already for strength. Dennis
Could you add 4 inches of flat strap o extend the bottom of the door? The have the stock looking rocker under the door. The inner rocker should stay. I’m thinking of how an55-59 Chevy pickup door has a notch step down so the door looks longer than stopping at the floor
You should cut that "frame rail" on a heavy angle towards the inside from about 1" below the rocker and flat plate it with maybe some quarter inch steel. Paint it black like the frame and the fall away will disguise the tall rail.
Introducing the Casey's Customs drinking game!! Gather your friends on Tuesday night, get several beverages each. Every time Casey says "excited", take a drink. If he says "very excited", take two. And every time he says "cut some shit", you gotta shotgun. Anyone able to stand at the end of the episode gets a sticker!!
'The airconditioning is taking a piss. No big deal". LOL. I found that hilarious. Awesome project. glad no body-widening was required. persistence paid off. I don't think crash bars are suitable. Door extension or some sort of side exhaust as I read in a comment? curious to see how you will solve the dash trimming to fit the windscreen.
no side bars , section it like you said /split the difference make only a slightly bigger rocker that flares to like a ground effect/skirt something that is a throw back to the Eleanore/Shelby style, but great progress so far looks great...
I would do side pipes instead of the rub rails. That would looks good. But sectioning the doors would be great. That would be able to get the rocker fixed.
Possible suggestion would be, but not sure; if you lengthen the windshield pillars maybe would lower the body to where you'd like the rockers to be roughly 5 inches. Might have to adjust the front fenders a bit.love all the builds you've done scence I've been subscribed. Keep up the great work brother.
I’ve watched you long enough to know that I have to trust the process. Honestly though, if a stranger glanced down your alley and saw you sawing up two decent Mustangs they might think you’re a lunatic. I know it will come out amazing though. Crash bars would look kind of cool if it has a rally/drift aesthetic. If you’re new here then stick around and watch him do his thing. Worth it.
love the build so far. the only thing I can think of that would look decent to fill the gaps are side pipes.
I agree as well SIDE PIPES.!
Thank you frank b in the ments said side pipes. 🤠kick ass
i was going to mention that as well, it would look kind of silly with nerf bars, side pipes and sheet metal to cover that gap or making the doors longer to fill the gap could🤷🏽♂look right.
Yeah that's the same thing I thought, kinda no different than Eleanor from Gone In 60 Seconds! The side pipes would help to hide/ camouflage the rockers.
Side exhaust pipes would definitely give it an even more custom look.
Like that good idea. And keep the 6 since most had them... Build it.
@@h8er627 then doesn’t that just contradict the “custom” idea?
Missouri has morphed into only three seasons: Hot, Wet, Cold. Any of the three can show up at any time throughout the year, all three happen in the same day frequently...From one of your neighbors down in Springfield...
You are not wrong lol. Been nice the last couple days though!
My favorite episode yet!
Shorten the rockers as much as you can then install side pipes to help cover the lower rocker panel I think that would look bad ass
You dropping the body DOWN IS the way !! Lots of work but the only way!! 🙏
Pretty amazing work and how tenacious you are on making it look right instead of taking the "easy way" out. Very impressive.
This car is going to be awesome. I like the idea of the side bars better than a section job, but you do what you decide will work the best. Everyone will have a different opinion anyway, and it is going to look the best how you decide it should look. Our weather has been crazy here in Missouri, that is for sure. Ingenious. Best ever build. 🧐🇬🇧🥇
Elenor side pipes? I believe That would clean up the look and still look proper. Just my two cents. Great build so far.
No man, nothing Elenor. I don't want his car to get taken away like that other dudes.
Not Elenor just Lenor lol
Really looking forward to this build, thanks for the continued content. I love the new opening BTW. Cheers.
Thank you very much for watching!
Hmmm....i'd probably section doors and skins only? Possible? Cowl at bottom of windshield that's an issue for original windshield. Good Job so far ....it still runs that's a plus.
Awesome build. I don't think the crash bars will look good, unless its like a off road stang. Maybe something like a molded side pipe exhaust.
I was gonna suggest sidepipes...
I’d say that’s his only option. Good idea man.
Cobra pipes
building custom skirts would be much cooler than the crawler bars
I'd cry if I had to chop my 65 up; but I also want to do something radical to it. This is a cool build! Thank you for the inspiration.
Funny my wife of 37 years has always wanted an old mustang I’m thinking it’s not going to happen as I retire in less than a year and even though she is now better from her stroke and driving and all she can’t work . Need to hit the lottery. Keep up the good work young man
How about SIDE PIPES? Make the new rocker panel concave in & make it look like its on purpose, not by mistake. I think it would look & sound awesome !
Sweet! Been looking forward to this update for a while! 👍👍🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🤘🏻🤘🏻
I just love your style of work.
Thank you very much!
These projects always impress me. Good luck with it.
Casey! We have two types of weather here in Florida…HOT & HOTTER. The humidity here stinks….😡🇺🇸
One idea on the rocker panel. Hard to describe. Cut into the rocker on the chasis like 2" up from the bottom and as you cut in deeper, taper downward. So the rocker tapers thinner as it comes to the body. It might not be doable, lose too much structure?
Big nasty side pipes! Or section the body but no big rockers! Very cool man, keep it up!
Casey looking forward to the transformation of your Mustang. Much success! 👍
Love the shit you do from home , I watch every Tuesday , it's going to be a sick poney I will stay tuned 🤟
Got an idea to hide the big-ass rockers, what about some Big Chief Hack'em Off Side pipes like the Cobra?
Thought: How about either fake or real "Side Pipes"? It would make up the space from the 65 rocker to the other Mustang's rocker. Or you could do the valve thing again. Love hearing that sir!!!
cut the new models rockers all the way up to the floorboard, and just tie the frame together with heavy square tubing. love this build can't wait to see what you come up with.
Now that's what I'm talkin about I can't wait to see that car when it's finished until then I can't wait for the next video
Idea.
What about not lowering the car, maybe even lifting it..
Oversized mud tires.
Gambler 500, mad max look.
Then the rock sliders look more fitting.
I did this with an old Lincoln Mark VII.

I vote you go ahead with the giant rockers and go with side pipe exhaust in front of them
I think some big ole Shelby cobra style side pipes would fill that gap nicely
At the end of the summer?! Wow! You ain’t sleeping no more are ya!
Side pipes with skirts, Something like the Roush Mustangs had.
Side pipes will hide some of that area Casey! Can't wait to see how it turns out!
If you did a false front rocker little taller than stock and then lengthen the door skin. Maybe that would make it a little more balanced
Here we go looking forward to this build
so excited for this! keep it up, man!
Love following this project. I understand the rocker issue. If you are thinking of something retro, maybe some Thrush side pipes?
She's looking good!
If you do the rocker panels bigger, try to extend the fenders down so the match the rocker panels. It shouldn’t look that bad.
Props to the editor for the transition from side burnout to the walk in,I see you getting fancy
I approve of you trying your hardest keeping the dash intact and busting out those wheel wells. Rocking your own merch is a lot better than that old burnt beat up black hoodie.
I like the idea of making the wheel to wheel area taller to cover the area under the doors.
like the ideal of adding to make the car taller but you also could do 5 or 6 inch side pipes exhaust
Leg pipes (side exhaust) would hide the side. Or cut the bottom of the newer chassis at a 45* and plate it.
Carona and I LOVE this video and we are GM guys! Awesome work!
You can keep the wind but send some of that Missouri heat. The rock crawler term is sliders
with those sponsor's you should do a fast back conversion that would be sick...just my 2 cents.
How about some lake pipe exhaust. With flame throwers of course.
I was thinking that you can actually try to make the rear quarter panel like the Porsche with the new quarter panel that you got. Make it with an air scoop “look” like the Porsche’s rear fender. Just a thought, so you can get that wider look.
I like that idea
Love the build man, truly impressive

I think the roll cage bars would look sick.. can't wait to see how this thing comes out.
Got air bags coming for it, and yea i gotta figure out a fix for that
Dual side exhausts covering the rockers would look sick 🔥
I am so happy to see your Panzer and Mustang builds. I’m more of a sports car fan. Yes I agree the huge rocker panel thing under the mustang doors looks like 💩on 🔥………🖖🏼👽
Thank you for watching! 🙌
Looks good Casey. Sounds like you're feeling better as well
Its looking awesome brother! Cant wait for next week! See you on TikTok as well!
When you say you might have to widen the body I get real interested. I think that is a great way to go the car can be wider, to bad you hate doing it. I think that is a cool way to fit it in. See your adding tubing already for strength. Dennis
SIDEPIPES Oh Hell Yeah!
Put some chrome side pipes on it. It looks period correct s very cool.
Could you add 4 inches of flat strap o extend the bottom of the door? The have the stock looking rocker under the door. The inner rocker should stay. I’m thinking of how an55-59 Chevy pickup door has a notch step down so the door looks longer than stopping at the floor
I have an idea... If it's to low on the side you could always try lifting the rockers up Abit? Or maybe make those side pipes to cover the rockers...
What you suggested is exactly what I was going to suggest, to section it and stretch it top to bottom. Looking forward to the outcome.
Keep at it! love it
You should cut that "frame rail" on a heavy angle towards the inside from about 1" below the rocker and flat plate it with maybe some quarter inch steel. Paint it black like the frame and the fall away will disguise the tall rail.

Anyone able to stand at the end of the episode gets a sticker!!
I don’t condone this because i fear people will die of alcohol poisoning 😂😂😂
I love this build man .., I hate the huge ass rocker panel look people do on the other body swaps too 😂.., can’t wait for the build to be finished
Congratulations bud!!!
Rather section the body to close the rocker gap.
This thing is gonna be sick
Loven it glad I found this channel
'The airconditioning is taking a piss. No big deal". LOL. I found that hilarious.
Awesome project. glad no body-widening was required. persistence paid off.
I don't think crash bars are suitable. Door extension or some sort of side exhaust as I read in a comment?
curious to see how you will solve the dash trimming to fit the windscreen.
Yea the windshield is gonna be real interesting lol
I like the idea of making the doors taller instead of the big rockers
This is gonna be an epic car dude
Side pipes will cover the rocker panel area.
Side mount exhaust like a cobra would hide the rocker
no side bars , section it like you said /split the difference make only a slightly bigger rocker that flares to like a ground effect/skirt something that is a throw back to the Eleanore/Shelby style, but great progress so far looks great...
I would do side pipes instead of the rub rails. That would looks good. But sectioning the doors would be great. That would be able to get the rocker fixed.
Toms refurb did custom side skirts that were pretty cool
Yes that’s what I was gonna suggest too was side pipes or maybe some mustang gt Elenor type ground effects

Side pipes would look good or you could try the hidden side pipe style that has a cover over the pipe .
ken blocks poon-tang looks great
To fix the rocker panel issue put corvette style side pipes over them to cover it
You mean Cobra side pipes.
@@joeshumo9457 sure
I think there is a wheel frare and rocker kit that maybe could work you might wanna check into that it's looking badass btw
Side pipes would look good! It's going to be awesome!
Agree that sidepipes incorporated into larger rockers would work and be astheically appealing.
Put exhaust pipes on the bottom of the door with wire mesh I think that will look cool To cover up that space Cool video keep up the great work
Definitely side pipes, 1967 Gt500 kind with a large rocker panel incorporating the pipes
Molded side pipes would take care of the rocker gap and not look horrible, looking great Casey
Love the build 😍😍😍😍
The opposite body section would look best. Have a good day
