ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!!! The Who rocking hard!!! Thank you for sharing your experience!!! Love you Pete Townshend, Roger Daltrey and all of The Who past, present and forever!!!
Roger is still twirling it! Brilliant! Petes guitar is great as always! 🎸 their love of their art & craft is the true fountain of youth. So glad to see them playing in 2024! Lovely 🎸😎👍
Took my Dad to see them as a surprise.. he absolutely loved them… Roger and the “Yeahhh!” Sent up your hairs on your back of your neck. Amazing night and so glad my Dad got to see them … Squeeze were great too
It’s amazing how much energy they have for being in their 80s for crying out loud. My grandpa’s in his late 70s and he can barely get out of bed. It’s also amazing that Roger Daltry has not lost his grandma even asked her almost 60 years, and Pete Townsend can still windmillpick like a maniac.
@@mydayis5you're fucking nuts. We saw them in a jam-packed sold-out Joe Louis Arena in Detroit about 6 years ago, they kicked ass like no other. Townsend had like 15 different times he did the big windmill. He was interviewed for a rock and roll magazine and he said when the shows are going good he does the windmill way more often. And Detroit was lit. They were excellent Daltrey's voice was unbelievable, Townsend was doing the windmill, he was on fire that night. They played all the hits. You're full of shit dude. This is one singer who into his well old age, definitely does a very very good job. I don't know of any other singer that even comes close at this age, maybe John Anderson of yes. That guy has really taken care of himself also. This was probably some charity thing where they probably had some audio issues or didn't have enough technical people to do things right. But, basically your opinion is terrible

He's had that one since 2002. First played it on the tour right after John died. He usually only played it for a song or two before switching back to his Clapton model strats.
@@pumpkinking5174 I found that out last night but I’ve never seen it before. I’ve seen them 3 times since John died and he never used it. It sounds great, he should use it more.
@KevyNova I totally agree. Just a fatter sound. If you search for the Camden, NJ show from 2002, its here on RUclips, Pete plays the p90 strat on the opening I can't explain. I was at that one and remember being completely surprised!
Look, if you still want to rock and thousands want to see you do it, have at it. These guys are 80+ and have earned the stages they stand on. Goddamn legends.
I hate those pads. Also, I used to quite like Zak's playing, but I now dislike it a lot -- there's no real vitality to it. He does horrible triplets on his snare to "cue" the band.
agreed....I bet he doesn't like them much either. I get that they're using those so they can keep the stage volume down for the orchestra, but it really just doesn't sound all that good. Have heard a few shows with the pads, and the mix just isn't as good as it was a couple of years ago when he was playing real drums.
Back when songs were written that could start revolutions. Amazing most people still haven't learned how to not get fooled again and still buy into the status quo whether it be on the left or the right. Roger and Pete could kick ass and to the naysayers in the comments - these 80 years olds would knock you on your ass with a microphone or guitar to your pathetic little head
I can safely say that this is the first (and hopefully only) time that I’ve seen a Fender Stratocaster with P90 pickups. As much as I love Strats and P90s, the combination just looks wrong to me. P90s belong on Les Paul Juniors, not a damn Fender.
You are wrong. Read the interview with Pete Townshend in the NYTimes, March 2024: Pete Townshend predicted the Who would do 'a final tour' and then 'crawl off to die' in March 2024.
It may have sounded ok in the venue but not on this video ,out off tune vocally and instruments yet i listened to kelly jones same venue same night perfect , watch pete with ian Mclagan performing kushty rye and watcha going to do about it or at ronnie lane memorial concert he is amazing on RUclips,
I'm sure I'll take some heat for this, but my opinion is the scream has been "dubbed" recently, as in the last decade. If you listen to the various screams in different cities, it is virtually identical to the Who's Next scream. If you go back to older recordings of the WGFA scream, it is not even close to the album. I don't fault him, but for me, I just think it's too consistent. Look at Axl Rose, and Brian Johnson, their voices are toast.
I cant help myself.... Always been a huge Who fan, but I really ask myself, why Townshend and Daltrey have to do it any more . It looks kind of ridicoulus now,.
Got to see them back in 76. Laser lights and all....the best concert ever !
