Just now settling down here in the cozy ol' four poster with my two boys (Tabby brothers.) to watch this. These are the ultimate "Bedtime Stories." I'm hoping your cabin videos really take off this year, Ken. I'll "Share" them to try and drum up some business! Stay warm, brother & God's blessings your way...
Almost exactly like that miniature you built Ken. I just noticed that. That’s a cozy little cabin. You need a little camp stove. More control over the heat. Nosy rabbit .
Thanks William. I had a smaller stove but it was no good for overnight in extreme cold. I had to stoke it every 1-1/2 to 2 hours and didn't sleep well. This one is large capacity and I can sleep 3-4 hours at a time.
Summer time should be repair and up keep time for Cabin. But need to have both good work gloves and Shooter's Glasses to protect against flying wood chips and splinters. The stove repair issue was a issue I would not have thought about so a small supply of screws, nuts and nails might be a good Idea for camping trips.
Thank you so much for watching Marie. Sorry I haven't been around lately. I'm still subscribed but I haven't felt up to watching gardening videos. Take care💕
Cozy little cabin :) love all the fresh snow it's beautiful out 👍, Yes our homemade stoves if we aren't careful they can be dangerous, Hopefully you can get it fixed right once your stove is out ! MERRY CHRISTMAS
@@shovelhead8 I hear what you are saying Sean. It all comes down to the road conditions and whether my wife feels safe coming to pick me up. The backroads can be a nightmare after some heavy snowfall. Thank you for watching my friend
I couldn't agree or love it more. I don't need anything big or fancy, just a little cabin in the wood with a stove a bed some food.. though my wife and cats might disagree :) Be well
P.S. I used to use a steel hook just like yours when splitting wood for the stoves & fireplaces at the old house in Maine. Was mighty handy when cutting 4-footers up, too. I almost miss cutting & splitting firewood! I like your camera placements, makes for more interesting shots. I only wish these adventures were longer, Ken!
Thanks Mark! I have a whole ammo can filled with nails, screws, nuts, bolts, washers, etc for any such repairs. I had a ton of rabbit video on the Trailcam
I have window covers but they would be too close to the woodstove. The cabin will stay warm for an hour after the fire is out. That also depends on the outside temperature 🙏
I just found your channel and subscribed. Your little cabin just the sort of thing I'm thinking about building. What are the approximate dimensions? Thanks.
Two of the windows are right beside the stove so I'm a little worried about the curtains getting too hot. I do have curtains out there though. Maybe I'll try it next time bur it's actually very warm in there except if I sleep too long and the fire dies down

Are you going to place window covers to keep the heat in better for you? How long will the cabin stay warm after the fire goes out???
I have window covers but they would be too close to the woodstove. The cabin will stay warm for an hour after the fire is out. That also depends on the outside temperature 🙏
I just found your channel and subscribed. Your little cabin just the sort of thing I'm thinking about building. What are the approximate dimensions? Thanks.
Thank you very much! It's 8x8 feet with a sloped roof. 8x12 would have been better but it's very remote and difficult to get supplies out there.
@@Thelonelyscavenger Thanks so much! My township allows me 120 square feet, so your 8x8 is well within what I can build.
Doesn’t the draft of the stove pull in cold air from outside making it drafty? Or do you have a separate intake for combustion air?
I never noticed a draft. The cabin is nice and toasty even with a low fire going. I do have a fresh air flap near the stove that I open occasionally.
Have you thought of some kind of window cover to help insulate the cabin? You must be loosing heat from the glass windows.
Two of the windows are right beside the stove so I'm a little worried about the curtains getting too hot. I do have curtains out there though. Maybe I'll try it next time bur it's actually very warm in there except if I sleep too long and the fire dies down
Maybe you should have a backup gas stove for heating (a very smal one), in case the flap falls off on the wood burner? God bless.
I have an ammo cam filled with nails, screws, nuts, bolts, washers, etc, etc for any repairs. It was an easy fix but the stove was too hot to work on it. I also have a back up stove in my storage tent
That poor square it’s hungry n cold.
Squirrels are outside all day in this cold. They have thick fur to stay warm 🐿
better to stay a cabin than in a tent during the winter storm...
That's right! I feel very safe in the cabin 🙏
You have no gloves on ?
It's difficult to wear bulky mitts while holding an axe or saw
Running outta food could be an issue.
