    Adding a gasket around the door of the wood stove would probably make it more efficient. You can see the flames around the edges of the door, when it is closed.

    My Grandma had a big wood cook stove in the kitchen. It would heat up the whole downstairs.

  • @chrisdaniel1339
    @chrisdaniel1339 28 дней назад +3

    That stove looks similar to our Vermont Casting Vigilant large parlor stove we have heated our house with for decades. We had two doors on the front that opened to the sides and a large opening on the top that could double as a griddle or cooking surface. I do like the single drop front door though, Very nice.

    • @oneparticularharbor144
      @oneparticularharbor144 24 дня назад +1

      I think that’s the VT castings Resolute stove- I have the same in in my cabin. You can still get parts for them and rebuild is easy- basically it’s just replace the gaskets and clean out the vents

    Invest in some insulation for the cabin, and you wouldn't need the space heater.

    Hello, my friend. I have a question for you, if you don't mind. I see you are using a space heater I was wondering why you set it up touching the sofa. I was told that there was heat coming out the back. Are you not concerned that the sofa cover could catch fire. Please be careful. Love your videos.

      Covering the windows would help heat from escaping thru the glass. The location of the stove isn't providing for the best flow of heat.

    Were there any problems with the cooking gas evaporation from the gas bottle due to extreme cold? I have a cooker and a largish grill hooked to one gas regulator ( propane) and sometimes the evaporation is barely enough in winter.

    Ok with all the wood stoves that people have made and posted on you tube ……. WHY ARE MOST OF YOU STILL USING THE BASIC WOOD STOVES….. Pipes running through the stove heated up by the fire with a fan blowing out the heated air…. And why the heck don’t you use the wood stoves as boilers… and run pipes under your floors as well… so 3 ways to heat your place with one wood stove…. Heats better and uses less wood …

    • @EdZirul
      @EdZirul Месяц назад

      And use KAO WOOL … for insulation….

    That's not a small wood burner, that odd to heat a fair area. Cut wood bigger when u go to bed it last longer.I would get a bigger woodvstove if it gets that cold where your at it is a good size area to heat.I have a 8 hour wood burner, it not going to the the heat like a solid cast stove.
