    Man you are always the best, thanks a lot for the prototype play with your thought.
    I think we can call App September driven Boargame... a lot of BG with APP.

    Hmm this one is a good test of my app tolerance! It looks like it all leans toward narrative scenes and rules reminders which is probably something I can live with. The combat looks pretty interesting and it could be a good thing it plays fast, at least it gives the game a different flow than the crowd.

      During combat the app very much takes a backseat. It tracks rounds and gives initiative order and which enemy reacts and that's it. So I think this won't be an "app-bridge too far" for most players :)

      Clearly you have not read "Naske's Treatise on Weaving for Discerning Young Kobolds in a Time of Strife". It comes with its own Reading Troll to lug it about and turn pages.

    Thanks Mike, I wasn't too excited about this but since you enjoyed it, I'll have another look at it. On the completely opposite end of the spectrum, are you going to be looking at Dungeon Universalis? I know Bairnt did a playthrough recently but I'd love to get your impressions as well. Thanks!

      Unfortunately I haven't played it at all or been in contact with them. But if you jump on our Discord or leave a comment on Bairnt's video, you can see how much he is enjoying it :)

    Just started this game today. A lot changed from the prototype to the final version.

      I just got my review copy on Wednesday. I'm playing a few other games first, but I'm excited to see how it turned out. Hope you have a blast!

    I did like the dice activation on Vengeance, although it didn't stay in my collection. This appeals to me more. I would like to see development of the tiles as they are a bit bland in the prototype. Probably going to back.

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  2 года назад +1

      Vengeance didn't stay for me either. Not sure I would keep this one after once through the campaign, but the combat is really fun.

    Thanks for the run through! How would you compare this with Robomon (if you had to pick just one...)?

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  2 года назад +1

      Well, this has the advantage of 3-4 player support, and the battles are a bit more tactically engaging than Robomon.
      That being said, I much prefer the exploration of Robomon to the long narrative choose your own adventure style of narrative here.

    Well, this is going to be a hard one to say no to. Vengeance: Roll and Fight has charmed me so much. Really all the art I'm seeing here. And the combat system seems great.

      Ah, scrub that. They are requiring iOS or Android for the app. The board game industry really needs to move on from this. Especially if you're going to outright recommend us to us a tablet instead of a phone.

      @@trashmyego Hello! We've talked to our in-house development team and are happy to announce that the app will be available on Windows, iOS and Android phones and tablets. Tablets and computers are recommended for the added screen space, but the app runs well on all these devices.

    Do you feel like this stands out enough from the very crowded dungeon crawl space?

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  2 года назад +1

      I think the super quick combat with fun dice manipulation is pretty unique. Though I'm not sure that's enough to fully "stand out" because like you said there are SO MANY CRAWLERS WITH CAMPAIGNS :)

    Couldn't put my hands on Vengeance, so this one is an obvious bakck for me, even with this much more generic theme. Thanks for another great play!

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  2 года назад +2

      Haha, you're right, revenge action is still a much more unique theme than this. But I prefer the gameplay in this one compared to the Vengeance, which often felt like multiplayer solitaire.

    Too much app interaction for me personally. I was open to the idea of using an app to manage many aspects of a game that seem tedious. However, based on several titles I have backed that included app integration, I think the answer is to simplify the game, not add an app.

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  Год назад +2

      I don’t mind the app for the story bits, because flipping through page after page would present its own issues.
      But I agree that the app isn’t really necessary for the combat. A simple 5-10 card deck of initiative cards or something would handle all the details it’s needed for

    I'm a bit disappointed with how the game turned out. I mean it looks cool, but maybe not for me. I thought all the tiles were for exploration AND combat. Like, you'd place out the tiles as you go, revealing events and enemies.
    The way this video makes the game look, it's really all about reading story from the app, and then doing a bit of arena brawling on a pre-determined arrangement of tiles, before reading some more story from the app, rinse and repeat?
    I love tile laying, seeing what comes up as I draw a new tile from a stack or bag and place it out to form my very own board, every time I play. Looking forward to Euthia for that reason.
    Anyway, great video!

      Thanks for watching. And I agree with your assessment. If you are looking for exploration and discovery, probably not the right title for you :)
