If you don't want to keep all that powder in her hair, all you have to do is wash it out. The baby powder soaks up the grease, which means when you wash it out, the grease goes away, along with the powder. I used this method on my Ashlynn Ella doll. I hope this helps!!!:D

I use this powder method too. I find that brushing the powder through the hair helps to get as much of the leaking glue out as possible, and it also helps to keep adding powder as you brush it, then when I'm finished with the powder, I wash the hair using hot water as hot as it will go from the tap (not boiling mind you) and a bowl of some sort and I dunk the head into the water and dip it up and down like dipping a tea bag for 10 seconds then I use baby shampoo because it's very mild and helps to remove all of the excess powder on the head and hair. I brush the hair again while the shampoo is in the hair to help combat tangles and distribute the shampoo evenly to make sure it gets rid of all the powder that was used. The I just rinse in warm water and let the dolls air dry. Had to do this with my Disney Princess Ariel, Frights Camera Action Lagoona, 13 Wishes Twyla, Ghoul's night Out Rochelle and Scaris Frankie.

I started using baby powder yesterday on my monster high dolls. I even use it on the ones the have dark hair and it works perfectly fine. I just repeat this process a couple times until I'm satisfied:
    1. washing (I use the one you wash the dishes with)
    2. using an oil or conditioner (I usually do that only the first time)
    3. using baby powder
    4. washing it off

Thanks for this, I used it to fix my Briar's hair. I used cornstarch because that's what I had, mostly focusing on the scalp just like you'd use dry shampoo, then let it sit for a while before combing it out, now her hair looks awesome not sticky and is still shiny. 😊

I had a doll with some pretty greasy light colored hair, I bought her from a thrift store so you could only imagine how gnarly her hair was. I thought this method was perfect but I had no baby powder, so I ended up using corn starch, and it worked fantastic, so soft and no longer greasy. With some brushing, I even got some of the sheen back.

Well, I used oxi clean on a Rochelle once and it worked, though I had to let the hair in the oxi clean solution for 3-5 days then washed it (I don't remember if I did boil wash or regular wash) then later on I used just a little baby powder to soak up any excess that remained, it mainly depends on how bad the glue seepage is. I know someone first used baby powder, then washed the hair, then put a ton of baby powder inside the head and let it there for hours then shook some excess but still let a considerable amount of powder when they put the head back in place, they used a first release Elissabat. Also you may need to re-apply baby powder to the scalp of any doll you curl and/boil wash since it will start seeping a little again (personal experience on that one), I used a small brush (paint/makeup) to apply it. Have a nice day!

*I highly recommend using vegetable oil. I know it sounds counterintuitive, but it really works wonders!*
*Using a silver dollar sized amount of oil (size varies depending on doll), I thoroughly scrubbed my Barbie doll's hair and scalp for a few minutes with my fingers. Used dish soap to thoroughly remove the oil (might have to wash hair a few times depending on how much oil is used) with luke warm water and cold blew dried her hair.*
*It worked perfectly! There is a very slight greasy texture, but the sticky residue is completely gone and her hair feels silky smooth and is so shiny! She looks like she just came out of a L'oréal commercial! Give it a try if you're having trouble with your doll's hair.*

Thanks for this. I actually tried it on a Cerisse doll with a great glue problem in her hair, and after my experience, I can actually say that you can use this method on dark-haired doll, it just takes more time. If you apply this on a dark haired doll, do it the same way you did it in the video, but then take a cloth or a piece of paper cloth (whatever is called in english) and clean the excess of powder in the hair. The hair may keep a tad of greyish, but if you clean it well enough, it will go back to it's original color at least an 85%. I prefer that than to have the super-glue-hairdo. Now my Cerise is back to nice hair.

As many people suggested, you should leave the powder in for several hours and then wash it out. I've tried it but I'm not a fan, the powder is hard to rinse out of the hair and the smell makes me ill. I want to try with other powders like baking soda or starch, I'll let you know how it goes.

Omg thank you so much! I have a old doll that I found in the depths of an old box that’s been in store for like five years. And I really want to repair her because all my other Monster High dolls are all nice and pretty and I literally found her naked with waxy hair. I gave her a bath, and found her clothes but her hair is still waxy! So hopefully I have powder and I can use this method.

Hi! I didn’t have baby powder so I used baking powder but I wasn’t happy with the results. Then I remember my husband used goo gone to removed stickers and it’s too soon to say anything because the hair is still wet but it feels Better than before

It seems that whenever I get Draculauras (I buy a lot of dolls second-hand, for modding purposes, they won't look like they did anyway, so the condition where I get them in isn't too important), the hair is *always* more or less gluey. Venus for some reason seems to usually always dodge it in the long part of her hair though.

After brushing the baby powder Out I usually follow up with washing the hair with dish soap and then I just recondition the hair. It works for me and I believe the dish soap isn't causing any damage. The hair looks normal after that and it doesn't have the weird feeling of baby powder.

I have a greasy headed Mirror Beach Ashlynn that I shampooed 3 times. I even put baby powder in her hair and then washed it out~ still greasy. I think I should leave the powder in like you showed us. She's a stubborn one but I love her face! I think it's prettier than the original Ashlynn. They all have their good features and my collection has grown to 14 now. I'm waiting for Duchess Swann (and 3 others) from Amazon. :D

Thanks for this! I just got a Tiana and a Merida doll from the second hand store, and their hair feels so weird! I asked my mom and her opinion was it is the type of material that the hair is, or the manufacturer put something in the hair to make it stay. I have washed their hair with Dawn like 50 times lol I will try powder...
