For the yellowing, give benzoyl peroxide pimple cream a try. Put it liberally on the yellowed areas, then put it in the sun for a few hours. Doesnt harm face paint but can remove stubborn stains. It worked wonders on a frankie that had gotten ball point tattoos.
I comb through cocnut oil, wait about 5 minutes, rinse in hot, then immediately in cold, then shampoo, sometimes have to shampoo a few times in luke warm water to make sure all the coconut oil is out.
Thank you so much for this! I’ve heard of using goo gone but I’ve never actually seen what it is and was terrified of it somehow staining the dolls. Thank you!!! I’m definitely going to try this on my collection that’s in dire need of glue removal (my poor Elissabat has the worst of it)
@@Dolldad_83 honestly it was a Reddit thread that said it and you can get conflicting information in the same threads all the time but it made me wary to try it. Thank you for actually showing the bottle too, I had no idea where to even start to look for that stuff.
Loved, loved this. I have a Spectra and desperately wanted to save her hair. I had washed it and washed it and I just couldn't bust that tacky feel. Your tips absolutely worked. Thank you.
@@Dolldad_83 Out of curiosity has anyone ever fused (as in like hair extensions) added to exisiting doll hair. I have this beautiful purple hair from rainbow high doll that was cut off and I'm sitting here wishing I could attach it to Spectra's hair. Sorry off topic but you seem very experienced with doll hair.
Is goo gone dangerous to the dolls paint? I have so many ppl telling to try like 25 diff things. Idk what to do. I like this method because it combines the powder method with googone. Do you recommend Wd40 or this method?
So far i havent had any issues with googone. Granted im very careful not to get it on the faces if i can help it. Wd40 works AMAZINGLY well. You can definitely incorporate it into this method. I use it right after i wash the doll with dawn soap and before i use googone
Do you just leave their hair styled as is and go through the steps? I'm always worried to take them out because I'm terrible at restyling the hair (e.g. like the Catty you showed)!
I take the hair down completely. If it was in decent shape before but nasty haha, i will take a bunch of pics to reference as well as look at stock photos to redo the style.
The ghouls rule clawd? Pink hair and flocking? That one is tricky bc anything makes the flocking come off. That one i only cleaned with oxiclean spray - shampoo and conditioner. (Still lost some flocking🫠)
@Dolldad_83 Music festival Clawd, dk brown and teal Mohawk surrounded by flocking to under the jaw. Been trying Degreaser (spray on, for engines etc) on the girls hair.

As a new collector this is so helpful! Thank you very much!
Absolutely! Glad to help! Others have helped me so figured best to pass on the knowledge 🤗
@@Dolldad_83 Very appreciated!
This has to be the most helpful video I have seen in a long time. 😊
Its long lol but glad you are finding it helpful!
Thanks for this video! I love collecting the older dolls so this was very helpful!
You are very welcome!

@MzRecey personally i have never worked with extensions - but i dont see why they wouldn't work🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
This is great. I got a spectra from ebay and now I know how to fix her hair. Thank you for this tutorial
Thank you so much I always go back to this works so well
🤗🤗🤗
Do you have a substitute for goo gone? Like a household item I could use or something because I’m pretty sure I can’t get it where I live.
WD-40!
@ Ty I’m currently trying to get the glue out of my first doll, she’s a freaky fusions operetta.
Thank you so much!!!!❤
If you're using this technique on a doll with curly hair like Gooliope, do you comb it out first or just go right into the washing and then comb?
I usually comb through first and then start washing

where do you get the dolls from?
Depends - mattel creations - target - walmart - ebay - mercari - Facebook etc

is there any alternitives to goo-gone?
Yes! The wD40 does an amazing job!
How about 2013 Clawd's flocked and rooted hair? Glue is making the flocking fall off
