Imagine you’re in Florida sitting on the beach, when you say “that sunshine hit me like lightning”, and then, you heard lightning, followed by an intense gust of wind and rain… 🌀
It looks very cool in the trailers at least. But then again Disney is one of the richest companies in the world. They can make anything look good. I hope it feels suspenseful and that the music will be good.
What's cool is, I saw a b-roll of Disney's score orchestra. They actually get to watch the (silent) animated scene on screen as they play...that way they can really know what happens at each bit in the music.
I love behind the scene info like this! Like how Jodi Benson looked up while she sang Part of Your World to really get the feeling of yearning to be ‘up there’ in her voice.
I love how the music is perfectly representational of how the storm scene plays out. It begins to thunder at 0:37, the rain starts at 0:48, lightning sets the sails on fire at 1:36, the ship rams into some rocks at 1:49, one of the burning sails falls at 2:16, Eric rushes Max off the ship at 2:25, the ship explodes at 2:41, Ariel saves Eric at 3:00, and the chaos finally ends at 3:12.

Ariel tries to swim away, but then she got hit by part of the ship due to the explosion. Grim and the crew were shocked. While Flounder, Sebastian, and Scuttle were shocked about Ariel. Eric came out of the water, trying to find Max, Grim and the rest of the crew. But suddenly, he saw Ariel knocked out for the first time. Ariel sinks into the water, while Eric dives in and rescues her. Eric grabs Ariel (to unconscious), takes her to the surface and to the shore. (Next scene, after the storm is over, showing Eric and Ariel at the shore, while Ariel is still unconscious) Eric: (to Ariel) Come on... please wake up. Please.
