I saw on your website that these are available for the e38 but on the ebay page the 740i is not specified as compatible. Is this because of the torque and the effects it would have on the product?
You don't seem to use the original paper gasket on the housing. I used it last time and it leaked. Do you use only the sealant and tighten immediately to 50Nm?
Was the e21 housing from an e21 open diff or was it an lsd originally
It was originally the open diff.

Hey i have small case diff i wanna swap medium case . What i need with medium case diff . Will it be enough to use the ears of the old one?
You will need axles and the rear end of prop shaft.
Have you ever tried with e34 differential lsd?
E34 has 188mm LSD unit, or 210mm. Those wont fit in small case E21 diff.
couldn't get past the intro music
Thanks for the great lesson.
Pleasure is all ours.🙂
Hello, can you share bolt torque specs for housing cover please?
Sure. 50Nm 👍🏻

That's right. All BMW diffs after year 2000 use this system from the factory. Never leaked.
@@RacingDiffs I'm replacing the shaft seals too because they are leaking. They don't need any grease or anything do they?
No, they don't 👍🏻
So how much more power can this handle compared to the standard e21 LSD differential? Or is it just less expensive to acquire?
This carrier unit can handle 300hp easily when it is upgraded to Stage 3 pack. Much more than oem e21 unit.
What about setting the pinion depth?
Wasn't necessary.
