Maciej is a good and tough fencer - he has good footwork, great distance management, and often perfect timing. His choice of techniques might be unorthodox and tricky but it's still valid. No wonder leg attacks were sometimes banned in historical competitions or at least regulated. Great choice of topic!
I totally agree! I wish I was able to locate more than a handful of clips. I saw a wider use of techniques on his RUclips channel that are pretty good. I wanted to include them but it was in-house sparring. It wouldn't be a fair comparison for the other fencers in the fight analysis playlist as those are all based on tournament footage.
So at Ochs I dont want to perform/see Geiseln. The Risk is simply too high to get injured. One handed Thrust: I am hard Fan of it. It can be super stiff and bust you really hard. Next Topic would be the impact of Geiseln: If you try Geiseln on a Tatami it cuts OK I would say: 2-3 cm deep. If you use it on the inside Leg of the opponent it could be very effective on the long run. The Arteries (away from Heart with pressure) are running closer to the Inside-Leg than the Venes (to heart which means less pressure). So if you are capable of cutting nice and clean till the Arteries then I think this is valid. To make Geiseln valid in Sparring or Competition you really have to make sure that the one who is throwing it really cuts it. So therefore technical equipment is needed or some other recognition system on the sword with color or chalk. But again One-Handed in general: Very valid.
I really love how this fencer at 1:20 deflects the snipe AND starts a riposte. Just amazing. This is something we all should learn, but it is so darn hard. I know this is the point of the video, but it is rarely utilized.
I completely agree. I know of a few different ways to defend against a knee snipe, but I still struggle to do any of them. That fencer is Federico Dall'Olio. He is a very impressive fencer who I have also done a fight analysis on.
@@TurulHEMA I watched it like yesterday, so yeah. Big coincidence. Keep up your amazing videos! I really enjoy them and get excited everytime I see you uploaded something.
@@nicopetri3533 Maybe not too much of a coincidence. Almost all of the clips I use come from DLC because of the availability of videos. Only so many top fencers at those tournaments. I am glad you like my videos though!
great video, as always! I wanted to ask something not related to this video, though. the other day I was looking for the diet video you use to have on your channel, and I realize you didn't re-upload it D: there's any chance you'll do it in the future? or it was lost? at the time I remember i found it very informative, but i really don't remembered now xD
Unfortunately I didn't have a copy of that one. I am considering re-starting that playlist once I finish up with my Masters degree in Nutrition (maybe 6 months). I didn't think people were too interested in it to be honest.
I also found it really interesting and helpful. It'll be worth the wait if you are planning to restart that playlist. Thanks for your grate videos from Uruguay!
@@TurulHEMA Hahah! :D its hard to text fonetically try with google translate sound, it does it well. You may at the same time try ,,Akademia Szermierzy" :D
Ahh I think I see where I went wrong. I googled the pronunciation of the first name and still get it off =/ hopefully he won't be offended. Thanks for the help guys!
I like it. Your video. And the whip. We are here to learn how to really fight its not a sport. If they wanna sport fight, let them do kendo. This is real fencing and fechtens. Knee snipes obviously work just like crotch kicks. Train how you fight, fight how you train. The sports idea is harmful to the art.

I don't think I have watched it since I originally uploaded it years ago. I should probably re-watch and see what I can re-learn.

Knee snipe following a feint to head is quite useful I find.
I typically only use the "Gayszlen" or single hand thrust once in a bout just to keep my opponent guessing how long my measure is.
That's smart! I usually only use it after someone used it on me. Petty revenge I think haha

Ah yes, the names... :D its so hard do describe how to speak it correctly just by text :D
Ohh damn! Nothing undermines an homage like messing up the subjects name. Was I at-least close?

I don't really know what you are saying, are you saying the whip is too sporty? or that its good because its not sporty?
