I ABSOLUTELY would love to see a video on making the most of analytics and maybe like, overlooked or unknown tools with social media and streaming that can help benefit a band starting out. I play and compose for a symphonic death metal band, and I have this hunch that our music may do better in Europe than in the States since, apart from recent trends in Deathcore here, it seems like almost all the symphonic bands that *I* know of come out of Europe, and maybe a handful from Canada. It'd be interesting to use these kinds of things after we finally release our work to see whether I'm even remotely correct.
My old guitarist is in a diy deathcore band called Shadow Of Intent! Maybe I will have a chat with him about what’s best for that market at some point! -Miami
Great points Miami. To be honest, a lot of bands/musicians I've seen get big is on RUclips. I remember back in the late 2000s when Andy James, Misha, Angel Vivaldi, Andrew Beana, Lauren Babic, Starset.... Charlie Robbins, Andy Cizek (more recent) & plenty of others were just 'starting out'. I know there were other avenues they dabbled in but they kept consistent & kept pushing. I think the most important thing currently is to get your online presence engaged & growing. I think it's a big factor a lot of bands/musicians still don't utilize to its fullest potential.
I remember those days too! Their grind is commendable because I don’t think I would’ve roughed it out as long as they did. The internet is integral in growing your audience, but also, you need to get people to care about you in your hometown first IMO! It STARTS there (if that’s an option where the band is from) -Miami
100 percent agree with all these points, also having a lot of money to backing your band and investing it properly, you can definitely pay your way up the music industry these days and sometimes that's all it takes to get noticed and gain listeners especially on streaming platforms/ playlists etc or even gigs you can easily throw money at touring agency's/ management to get placed on the bill with bigger bands
This is totally true. There can def be a pay to play marketing plan, and if people are super interested I might go into this in depth in an episode and get Joey to talk a bit about it -Miami
@@joeymusic Awesome! I’m glad you agree too, kinda sad that is the way, it does make the music scene very saturated having artists ‘pay to win’ 🤣 but that’s the way it is now, looking forward to the video if you do make it 🤘
Please more videos about how to grow a band. This video was already so informative! We are trying to get into the local scene. Unfurtunatly we don't know much people outside our band xD
I agree with a lot of these mistakes which is why I've been going to more local shows and becoming more part of the local scene. I'd be curious to see more actionable goals in what it takes to go from scratch to successful.
i want to show this vid to the local bands of my country but i realized that there's literally no scene HAHAHAHHAAAHA I freaking love this channel i swear to god.
The worst part of this is when you are going through another round but you’re like “oops, gotta skip this person, they already didn’t respond to the last 5...”😩 -Miami
Fuck y3eah! That's exactly how we did it back in the Disturbed days! Everyone supported everyone else! Tried to do that in 2009-14 and forget about it! Tried again in 2016-18 and NOPE! Flat NO! Didn't even get off the ground it was so bad in the scene! Like there was none! Was all about the ME! Not about the THEM! If your number 1 in your own story... your never gonna get to tell it cause you won't have no one that will listen!
I agree about helping band members find their strengths.
After any gigs I make my singer shut the fuck up.
It really helps.
This is absolutely hilarious 😂

@@joeymusic Agreed my man. It's a big combo or both I think. And the support of one another is paramount

It’s now your job to make a scene there, just so you can show the video to everyone😂
