I damaged my two passengers side doors in b&q carpark , bought the left barebones front door ages ago but never had the confidence or know how to change it out , will be doing it now with the help of this vid 👍

The door handle did not bang, the door does not close, after a few attempts it worked, but I do not open it anymore, I am afraid that I will not close the door. I was looking for a guide on how to disassemble the door and get to the lock. Great job. Please add to the title "MK 2" for a better search.

Hi there I know this is a old video, just a question that mechanism that stops the door from opening too far how did you reattach the torque screw. Obviously the latch won’t reach when the door is open to re fasten the torque screw but if you close the door you cannot tighten the screw up. Thanks
With the door open i pulled the the arm (of what use to be called a check strap) I pulled this out as far as i could, from memory it took some effort, then i had David push the door a bit as if he was starting to close it, so that the arm was just about touched the A pillar, then i started to insert the bolts, when they had enough threads in the end or the arm i fully opened the door (this fully opened the arm) so that i could get the bolts fully tightened

Hey man you nice video, i followed your instructions and i replaced my broken window but now i cant seem to install these plastic black pieces for the door lock, any tips how to reconnect them will be Very helpful
I think you mean mean the ones where you pushed he centre through, to re insert these , with the pin out or just inserted in the ring, push the prongs into the door so that the ring is level then push the pin into clip so pin is level with the top to lock
Thank you i was looking for thi tutorial a complet work for remove the lock mechanism because when I turn my key to open the door nothing happens but the cylinder looks ok, I will see tomorrow now :-)

Do I have to change the internal lock bits just to be able to use my old key or can I just change the lock by the handle
if you swap the barrel from your old lock over then it will be fine,

Hi, I want to drill out my speakers but I need to remove the inner panel. I’m scared that the window will be attached to it… In your video it seemed that the window was absent
I show in the video removing the window, depending on what your are doing wirh drilling out the speaker, you might be. Able to just raise the window out of the way

I think I need a new window regulator. My window goes down ok but stutters and bangs going up. It's now got the point where the motor is powering it but something sounds like it's sliding around and window is stuck 😖

Just a quick question , the door card clips, they are still in the door can I re use? ( pull them out) or do they need to be replaced?
You can reuse them if not broken, same as clips on mouldings, I can’t remember on the focus but some clips slide out, some pull out, some twist out, but usually they can always be reused, if you do have any that are broken, usually if the door card was pulled off instead of prying off, then car parts shops usually stock clips

im currently about to do this with my MK2 focus and i have a friend's replacement MK2.5, are these door cards the same? They look similar just eyeballing it next to each other

I am stuck at the 9:45 mark as I have done everything in the tutorial but it feels the inner frame is stuck on something when I try to remove it. It feels stuck in the top right hand corner
Hi at the 9:45 mark i'm removing the bowden cable from the inner door lock, it is still physically connected to the actual lock.
Have you removed all bolts and rivets,
Is the window regulator in the same place as it could maybe be this that is catching the door
After having a fight with a bus I needed to replace my car door, I've got a MK1 Kuga and this has been the exact video I needed almost like for like. Thank you so much. How do I contact you for a quick related question? With the new door my handle doesn't open on first attempt when locked. I have a video I can send you. Eagerly trying to fix. I'll need to replace the whole loom with the old one too, as for some reason it doesn lock into place on the car.

Not sure as I haven’t done one myself, it might be that the door locking might need adjustment, I take it you swapped lock from your old car so key works, did you buy the second hand door if so did you see it working on the donor’s car, wire loom may be different if different spec vehicle, or may be damage removing from donors car
or different locking motors, etc
@@RichManPoorMotors I swapped out the locking mechanism from my old door into the donor door. Happy days. But the break looking cable has come loose from the locking mechanism. Am I meant to glue this in place?
No the Bowden cable should fit through a hole or other bracket and hold kooky in place once tensioned eg buy being connected and clipped in as it should it will hold In place

Speaking of check straps, im trying to install one. How do i access it the easiest? My speaker does not seem to have bolt or screws, so i guess the metal panel is the answer? But that seems to be a hassle with all the cables and connections attached to it on the backside? Thanks in advance
I’m afraid there’s no short cuts but you don’t have to do the other things shown in the video

Not sure if this is just my car as it’s an ST, but the cable that you’ve miraculously pulled through on that right side I’m not able to pull through or disconnect.

If your on about the cable that I said remove the rubber grommet, look at 9:30 where it was disconnected from the lock after undoing the window regulator panel. Just remove the grommet as you would usually remove grommets by prizing the rubber around the hole

You don’t show that it’s just all of a sudden disconnected after your cuppa
Ok so perhaps your a decent mechanic to be kind, as far as being honest making videos is definitely not your thing at all. I wouldn't rate this even an effort at an actual tutorial. The camera work and narrative is terrible. Apply some people skills and some desire to give others enough, to do what they need to do if they are here watching this. Explain whats important and what exactly to do as far as where to pry where to start which way to pull etc etc. Just saying, if your going to bother making a video the whole purpose anyone watches is so they can LEARN how to do it. Nobody is here about a ford focus door for curiosity or entertainment purposes.
