We're planning our destination wedding at Grand Palladium Colonial in Dec 2021. This video was extremely helpful in getting a feel for the property. Thank you for posting, Leos at Large!! :)
You're welcome! Here's a link to the property web cams. You can see the different areas - the main pool, the small adult pool in the jungle , the beach and more. Enjoy your trip! www.palladiumhotelgroup.com/en/webcams
We watch the webcam for Grand Palladium and you can see them draining then refilling the pools to get an idea of the current status for the resort. Good luck!
Have a great time! With three different areas at Grand Palladium, you have much to choose from. Keep in mind that the best beach for swimming is down in the Kantenah area.
We are so sorry to hear you had a bad time. Fortunately we didn't have too much interaction. Grand Palladium is also quite large so we hope you have better luck there.
Thanks so much for making these videos comparing Gran Palladium and Barcelo. These are the two hotels I am looking at to have my wedding. I am torn between both places. I loved my stay at Barcelo a couple of years ago but I haven’t been to Palladium. Your videos have been so helpful. Thanks and God bless
Hi Frank. Glad to help. I think for us if you wanted an smaller, more intimate wedding that the more upscale Barcelo might be our first choice. For a larger one that requires more activities Grand Palladium would offer more. Congrats and hope your wedding plans work out well!
Thanks for the comparison! We’ve stayed at Barcelo and considering the Palladium this winter. Where is this adults only “secret” pool located? How does the food and evening entertainment compare to the Barcelo? Thanks!
Thanks for your question. Watch this Part 1 video and at 3:12 I show you on the map where the Secret Adult pool is located. It's in the Colonial section, where the other nice, smaller pool is in the Kantenah section. Both have bars, not swim-up, but nice
I highly recommend Palladium. The entertainment at Palladium is WAY better. The breakfast at Barcelo was better but the lunch and dinner was better at Palladium.
A question for you! How does the snorkeling compare to the Palace? We have stayed at the Barcelo 3 times but we are looking for somewhere new. We are beach and pool people who love outdoor dining. Thanks for the info in your videos!!
Thanks for your question. I enjoyed the snorkeling offshore of the Maya Palace at Barcelo because it was easy to find the rocks and coral with lots of turtles. Grand Palladium has a long beach with a combination of both coral and sand as well. I liked Grand Palladium for the beach because it was nicer for sitting in the sand and swimming/jumping the waves. Especially in the north part in the Kantenah section. This is nice snorkeling at the other end of the complex, which is huge, as a trail winds it's way up the the point where a salt water pool has been made with open access to the ocean. This is a nice area for snorkeling, but not when the waves are rough. Grand Palladium also has a basic buffet/bar area centrally located and right next to the beach and pool. Also there is a nicer seafood restaurant near this called Poseidon which is mostly open air right on the beach. Check out the photos on their website at www.palladiumhotelgroup.com/en/hotels/mexico/rivieramaya/grand-palladium-colonial-resort-spa/gastronomy. Have a wonderful trip!
Nice video, but I have to say since nobody else has yet. The Palace is comparable to the TRS they’re both premium luxury resorts. It would have been better if you had shown the TRS since the renovations and expansion a few years back has really changed the resort. They took over what was the Riviera resort and made it into the TRS which was very small.
Thanks for your insights. Yes, we have seen that also online. Would be nice to see in person. All that is new to when we were there. Bet it does change the feel of the resort.
To the best of our knowledge, both the Romance suites in the Colonial and Kantenah sections are open to children as well. There is one bed and a sleeper couch, so probably not designed for children so suggest using the other larger bedroom accommodations. It really isn't a long walk to the beach from some of the larger rooms, although none are closer than the romantic rooms.
You are correct! We could have been more clear and meant to say that is is the Grand Palladium Travel Club that is an extra price that includes being able to book the TRS. The hotel was very pushy and tried to "sell" this upgrade to use the TRS without mentioning they were actually selling the Travel Club. The TRS is an upgraded part of the complex that has the best restaurants, night clubs and much more. It is more expensive as you get what you pay for. Here is what another person said on the Travel Advisor's website about the Travel Club... "We both were interested in learning more about the Palladium Travel Club and after an hour they told us the numbers to “ Join The Family “ .... let’s just say I can buy a very nice car and still pay less then the price they wanted us to pay and it was only to get a 30% discount on top of monthly payments which was ridiculous ... The people there are very very pushy and don’t take no for an answer but it was cool to see the nice rooms and suites." Sorry for the confusion over the TRS property and the Travel Club.
Pretty sure this is Angela Kinsey from the Office and David Spade undercover. Regardless thanks for the great review, we are headed to white sands soon!!
I went to Grand Palladium TRS Yucatan and Barcelo Maya Riviera (both adults only) and I liked everything better at Grand Palladium except for the beach and the breakfast. Palladium has better grounds, entertainment, unique restaurants, entertainment, luxurious feel etc. Both resorts have good and bad food for sure. But I love my breakfast hashbrowns and the ones when I went to TRS 2 yrs ago were fake. Where as Barcelo had perfect ones. I really hoped TRS improved the entire breakfast because those pancakes were chalky and the sausage was gross 🤣
Thanks for sharing. The beach at Grand Palladium down at the northern end was the best of both resorts, while the adult only pool area and food (and rooms) at Barcelo were the best. We also enjoyed the expansiveness and wildness of Grand Palladium as well.
Your explanation showing the map and where everything is located was so useful, thank you! Great informative video
great info i stayed here last year and am coming back next month its wonderful

I find Grand Palladium definitely takes better care of you and feels more upscale 1000%. I am returning to Palladium. I hope you enjoy your stay!

Love your video, one question, do they pick u up at the airport from the hotel?
They do not, we had to hire a shuttle service.

What resort is TRS stand for?
Can you tell me, is the Romance suite section of rooms “adults” only or can a family with a child book those? Thanks

They are only for adults, no children allowed as far as I remember.
So helpful, thank you x x
Thanks for leaving your comments!
You said TRS is timeshare, but it is not. Everybody can book TRS but is adult only and upscale. Please make sure the info is correct.
