I once read where a dancer said that the term strutting was kinda like an umbrella term for the dancing being done in the Bay Area back in the 70's and 80's. So that would include the Fillmore under that umbrella.
@BANIAAAAK Firstly it's "Fillmore" not Filmore. It's a famous street in San Francisco. Strutting is a dance style that originated in SF. I didn't do the Fillmore style but I strutted as a kid in the late 70s early 80s. I maybe wrong but I believe Strutting started in the Fillmore District area and spread throughout other parts of the Bay Area.

It looks fun af & with it being challenging + skillful trying to keep up with somebody better and continue to grow at it. I mean West Coast has moves named after set's & stuff. Pretty sure they were doing it on the half-time show. I'm not trying to get into anything more than dancing and not offend anyone. West Coast culture is mad different than the North East's. Some may try to rep. Here but imo, hands down Cali GOES in. Boston has plenty of gangs and they DO bang. 5,000 miles separate them and many other things too. Wild how you can be in the States and go most of your life never seeing this anywhere but here. Never heard of strutting or Fillmore. TY
Yes SOS from East Side SanJo ✊🏽 they was Strutting/Popping with all other SanJo Strutters ..we did same at Filmore but switched it up because they only had a few steps ..so we added Tutting waving etc.
