Alan's animations are made to be understood with no captions at all. Actually, these captions are fan-made and, IMO, they worsen the experience. Usually, they just reiterate what we've seen on screen.

10:39 yes western dragons have arms and wings, dragons that have wing that are also arms like bats are called wyverns, which in most legends are considered lesser dragons, and as for Eastern dragons they are snake like Sinron from dragondball or Gyarados from Pokémon.

I honestly like the videos more without the captions since they take away a lot of the charm these videos have because of them being able to tell an interesting story without dialogue.
Not to mention, the dialogue was 100% fan-made. So the captions aren't canon to begin with.

@Order and Madness ava and avm captions are chaos, because Alan wanted his animations to be up for debate, thats why he himself didnt made any captions to the story,he wants people to imagine what they are talking. And most captions are like memes and a bunch of random things
@Order and Madness How do you think I feel?? It’s a nightmare because if I’m not using captions all I see are comments telling me to turn them on. If I turn them on I find out that literally everyone else that wasn’t commenting hates them
The captions are just fan translations based on what they're seeing happen on screen, And you're watching the same thing they are, so you don't really need them. i prefer to watch without them, to me it kinda takes away the charm of them expressing themselves- or somethin like that idk
its better to not watch with subtitles, they were fan made and alan himself said they are pretty innacurate
If you pay attention when the baby dragon flies through the end portal Alan forgot to remove it completely so you can still see it's tail and back legs as the rest of the animation continues

The update that introduced the end cities happened back in 2016. It was called the "combat update"

10:40 oh, I really enjoy looking into fictional/fantasy taxonomy, here's what I know about dragons.
There are whole subspecies of dragons all across fiction and mythology:
4 legs + 2 wings = typical western dragon, usually very intelligent, greedy and proud (a lot of them tend to be evil or at least mean)
2 legs + 2 wings = wyvern, less intelligent than dragons but also well known to use poison or venom either from the tail or fangs and claws.
0 legs + 2 wings = amphitere (thing snake with wings). these aren't really well used in storytelling and they only really show up in old European Heraldry (family crests and such)
4 legs + 0 wings = drake or sometimes known as a land dragon. predominantly even stronger and tank-ier than regular dragons, they also tend to be more reclusive.
2 legs + 0 wings = lindwyrm, these guys tend to act more like a mole with the 2 legs less for walking and more for digging. historically, they show up in 11th century Swedish runestones, but they are also brought up in German and Austrian folklore.
0 legs + 0 wings = wyrm, often considered wise and cunning but seeing as they normally don't have venom (like snakes) or elemental abilities, they end up using hypnosis or other psychic shenanigans to defend themselves.
multiple heads = hydra, in my opinion it both is and isn't a type of dragon in that it can be a variation of any of the above (dragon hydra, drake hydra, wyrm hydra, etc.)but I think it at least deserves a mention. obviously one of the most famous hydras is the one that Heracles slays as one of his 12 labours (spoiler: to combat the cut-off-one-head-and-two-grow-back regeneration he cauterises the neck stumps before they can grow their heads back. the last head is immortal though so he traps it under a boulder and crushes it).
It is worth noting that these subspecies/categories are by no means definitive or absolute. plenty of fiction writers mix and match various aspects as they see fit and it's often easiest to just lump them all together as "Dragons"
P.S. of course there are also eastern dragons (Chinese, Japanese, etc.) but this comment is already long and that's a whole other can of wyrms (heh).
The end citys came in the 1.9 combat update, it was added in 2016 (we are on 1.18.2 in 2022), it came with the elytra and shulker boxes, added the off-hand feature, the shield, and 2 new command blocks
The subtitles in the early ones and tnt land are pretty funny, these ones are pretty literal

They also made funny animations to promote Team Trees and Team Seas, but since both of those campaigns are expired now, might want to just leave them for now and watch them together after everything else
Or if you want to group them more smoothly, doing League of Legends, then 12+13+14 (they're all quite short and 14 is "season finale"), and then Pokemon and Super Mario either together or separately is fine too :)
Wyverns has wings and two legs, Dragons have two wings and four legs/limbs. Blame Skyrim for the pop culture confusion.

You don't really "need" the captions, it's more for fun, but a little useful if there's a part you may not have caught.

The Elytra was added 2015, and you don’t really need to use the captions.

i am not a fan of Skyblock, to me that is the worst way to play Minecraft, i wanna explore and build, not be stuck in some minimalist hellscape.

You are missing a big good time by not watching some of the best thing about minecraft like dream SMP , hermitcraft, 3rd life , last life and after life.
