+Larry Nelson The brush is Japanese-Yasutomo / Haboku-artist 8030 Small. It comes in several sizes, available on Amazon for around $11! It has a wonderful point and is very springy.
Excellent questions! This is a regular thin, raw xuan paper. The brush is a small hard-bristle with a good point. The reason it looks like it holds a lot of color is that I have edited out the pauses when my brush goes off-camera to reload with more paint. Happy painting!
Virginia Lloyd-Davies hmm my raw Xuan paper must be too thick! Thank you so much for your kind reply! I can’t wait to try to draw some more flowers using your technique ❤️
The thickness of your xuan paper shouldn't be a problem - double xuan would work fine too. Just make sure it is raw xuan, rather than sized xuan. With double xuan, I would use more moisture on my brush. Good luck!
Some papers really are best used with unadulterated black ink, as for calligraphy. I have some papers that deliver excellent black ink bamboo leaves but blur and spread the minute I dilute the ink. Very frustrating!
Precioso, gracias
You're very welcome! Thank you for making me smile today!

another beautiful video from Virginia! Thank you also for the info about the brush, I'll have a look.
+asplodec Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video. The brush is very springy, particularly good for chrysanthemum petals.
Very nice demo, the brush you are using, seems to hold a lot of paint. Thanks.

I love these strokes! What type of paper and brush are you using? This brush seems to have a lot of flexibility and it holds so much more paint !
