    Best demonstration you actually explain ( clearly) what you are doing and how, and why. It’s so important to understand the botany of plants you’re painting.

    Wow! Nan you just answered about a million questions in 8 short minutes! Delighted I found your channel. There are so many teaching here on RUclips that have actually admitted to me in comments that “it’s difficult to explain...” You my dear, have just proven that is a myth. Now I have something I can pass on to them. So grateful to you. Thank you for sharing. New subscriber and big fan. Blessings to you.

    This is a really great tutorial for ink drawing!
    I'll have to show my granddaughter & see if she wants to try it next time she comes over, or perhaps watercolors
    I'll have to get some more rice paper! This is a great skill to teach kids! Once they get it, it's a really fun activity they can do for hours when they get older. I think it's great for teaching patience, and that less is more too!
    Very nice!
    I'll have to look for a lettering tutorial, as that's what I'd love to do better myself! Love the leaves! Beautiful!
    I wish things like this were taught in elementary schools still! Wonderful activity that teaches more than just art!

    Hi Nan, so wonderful to see a lefthanded artist! I love your video's. Have just started Chinese Flower painting and have a real struggle with the book I am learning from (which does explain the steps very well) because its a right handed book and my leaves and such come out with the colour on the wrong side. Everything happens the other way round because being lefthanded I start the strokes differently, and then the light part comes out at the underside of the leaf and the dark part at the top, which is not how its supposed to be.... Can you give me any advice on how to tackle this problem or make a video adressing lefthandedness? Much love from Suuz from Netherlands x

    Beautiful technique. I am trying to get better at my leaves! You mentioned a detail brush being used. Is that what I am looking for in the store or is there a specific name of the type of brush I need especially to do the land and release center stroke technique?? Thanks

    • @NanRae
      @NanRae  10 лет назад +1

      Dear Matthew: Thank you for your kind comment...that means so much! The actual name of the brush I was using is 'Best Detail Brush'. You won't be able to get it in Western art stores but should find one in a Chinese or Japanese art store. If not, go to my website www.nanrae.com and click on supplies. Wishing you great success with those leaves!
