50yrs!!?? Now that’s what you call true love lol! Closest I heard to that were my parents before my mother passed away. They were happily married for 45yrs ♥️ - Andy
I liked your reaction to these beautiful men, inside and out. Interesting fact, Barry wrote this song when he had been married to Linda 7-8 years. They have now celebrated 53 years of marriage....🙂❣
So happy. Your reactions were great. Dude on my ,left was doing the head bop first half, Barry hit that second falsetto and he came to life , eyes popped open, started smiling. Guy on. My left, smiling from ear to ear for 6 minutes. And yes the girls loved Barry and his younger brother Andy. Each brother has their unique voice. They defined the disco Era. I would love to bring disco back. Singing and dancing and happy all night. Go watch Saturday Night Fever right meow.
ALL the proceeds from this song, along with the publishing rights, were donated to Unicef Children's Charities and at last count were well over $10 Million. The Bee Gee's were always VERY generous! ❤️
Excellent response, and you already know that these guys had to deal with many fans throwing themselves and their intimate clothing on stage to show their pure passion for these guys. My Dad used to tease my brothers and me: "Don't let your girlfriends see these guys. These guys will steal them with those voices." He was right.
When you can sing like a woman you achieve successful singing - Paul McCartney quote about Barry Gibb - and indeed the middle dude the best falsetto of all time - from the Bee Gees. The most talented songwriters in music history - their songwriting is simply from a another planet - quote by Elton John 🍾🔥🪐
The "middle dude" cannot do it without the other 2 "dudes." I assume you were talking about Barry since he was in the middle during this song. I think they are called the Bee Gees, not Barry Gee.
Forget when you can sing like a woman, I don't know many women who can sing like that, and I've been singing the blues for years! My name would be Coco Taylor if I could belt the heights out Barry can! lol
@@myowndrum286 Keep in mind, Robin and Mo could do the same as Barry. There are deaf people, who confused Rob and Mo's falsetto, and thought it was Barry. I don't think the falsetto sounds pleasant. Also, many people prior and after Barry were able to do Falsetto better. Barry can keep singing like a girl. Not my cup of tea.
@@susanhunter7124 Oh, I know that they had great voices too. I was raised in a singing family. Some of my fondest memories are of grampa taking us out of the room, one at a time, to teach us each our octave, then brought us all back together to sing. We learned to harmonize from Everly Brothers albums! lol.
Welcome to the wonderfully large rabbit hole that is the Bee Gees, they are one in a million, their harmonies have never been matched, but sadly we will never see their like again, certainly not in my lifetime. Most of my favourite songs are sung by Robin, his voice is powerful, yet has a vulnerability I've not seen since. These guys were not only artists in their own right as the Bee Gees, but they were prolific songwriters for others too, Barbara Streisand, Diana Ross, Celine Dion, Kenny & Dolly, Dionne Warwick to name a few. I am glad Sir Barry got his knighthood, but they all should have been bestowed the honour!
These guys are brothers who sang together from very young. Wrote 100+ hits, over 1,000 songs all up. Worked from the 60's until today though only one guy is left. Try "Jive Talking."
I will speak only for myself, but I love this kind of music and wish it would make a comeback. These 3 brothers (from L/R Robin, Barry, and Maurice (pronounced Morris) starting performing together when they were just 9 and 6 (Robin & Maurice are fraternal twins) and IMO nobody can touch their harmonies. Check out Nights on Broadway and Fanny (Be Tender with my Love). You will not be disappointed.
Great reaction thanks 🙏 imagine no auto tune in them days just pure genius and talent, they are absolutely amazing 🇬🇧 Uk guys, the have a vast catalog of hits over 5 decades, I attended a concert in Las Vegas in 1997 called Bee Gee one night only, they were absolutely amazing live, the Bee Gees always considered themselves first and foremost song writers before vocalists, and have written songs for Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers, Diana Ross, Barbara Streisand and many others, also songs for films like Grease staring John Travolta, and Saturday night fever another Travolta film !
They donated the profits from this song to the children fund UNICEF. Has been reported to be 7 million dollars. They said in an interview that they didn't care about the money just wanted to be famous. They certainly achieved both. I love how Maurice looks at Barry.
The last reliable tally I've seen was 11 million, as of May 17, 2017 (per the Bee Gees Official Twitter account), so it's surely well over that by now. Also, Barry included the song on his 2021 hit album, Greenfields, so that (duet with Alison Krauss) will bring UNICEF even more.
Yes, women fell all over them. They still have tons of fans, I'm one and I'm 46. The Brothers Gibb are in the rock and roll hall of fame and the songwriters hall of fame. Tied with Paul McCartney for the most number 1 songs. They have top songs from the 60s through their last album in 00s. Plus Barry had a number one album recently called "Greenfields: the Gibb Brothers songbook vol. 1" The Bee Gees music changed with the times, but you can always tell it is them because of their beautiful voices and lovely harmony.
Yes. In the late 1970s everyone I knew was in love with Barry Gibb. 5 decades of great songs. You might like “Love You Inside Out” next. Thanks for sharing!

No we don’t have this type of music anymore:( It’s sad. First time I heard you react. This is gonna sound silly but I only Listen to people that react to the Bee Gees because that’s my all -time favorite group😗
I was a teenager when this song came out. Of course we loved the guys with the shirts half undone, and perfect hair! It was the late 70's and that was the fashion for young men. Of course we wanted our men to be fashionable! Most of the guys my age didn't have much chest hair yet but I did grow to appreciate it! Barry sang lead on this song and Staying alive. Robin (on the left) also sang lead and had a successful solo career off and on. Try "I Started a Joke" for deep lyrics or "Bodyguard" for something sensual. Morris (on the right) also sang a few leads. "Closer Than Close" is my favorite! Great reaction guys!
At the time this was released, Barry, middle, had been married to his wife for around 7 years. She was his inspiration for this song, ‘How Deep Is Your Love’, and many more love songs…and they’re still hitched, and going strong today…almost 53 years.

Super fun reaction! They set the style for the late 70’s, especially Barry. He had “THE” look everyone wanted, including the hair, open shirts and jewelry. They wrote this and 2 other #1 hits in the same afternoon/evening. Please react to the others. They are TRAGEDY (audio, only) and SHADOW DANCING for their younger brother ANDY GIBB who had a HUGE solo career. If you want to see their 60’s style (fashion and music), react to TO LOVE SOMEBODY - the 1967 black and white tv appearance. Robin and Maurice (twins) are 17 and Barry is 20.
Women STILL love these guys! So do men! Their music is incredible. They were the greatest! Best singers, best song writers, best harmonies. They were that good. Honest to God talent! Today's music can't touch it. We do need to bring back this kind of music! Good reactions!
Those guys helped create the next generation. That is also the perfect song for the new bride and grooms first dance. If you want to see the guests attitude change for the better, film the hall when that song plays. There will be almost as many tears as at a funeral. Only these will be tears of love and joy. And yes. i grew up in the late 70's, so they were an everyday part of life.
Great reaction! You two are a lot of fun! The Bee Gees are so cool! You like them? Well, get a load of about two, three dozen more of their top tier hits. This one made it to # 1 as another ten or so in the 60's thru the 80's did. The Gibb brothers donated the total rights and proceeds to the song to UNICEF, an international children's charity which made the org. more than $11 million. Good guys.
Who wouldn't want a man like Barry to sing to her, or him, like that. I always wonder what or who they're thinking about while singing these love songs. I'm sure Barry thinks of his wife since they've been married for over 50 years.. Lucky lady!
