This casting is PERFECT. I feel so bad for doubting Jesper's actor when they released the cast bc he's now my favorite.
They didn’t doubt him as playing the character, but for how the character looked. Jesper was dark skinned. He had dark brown skin. The actor is light skinned.

MILO THE GOAT SUPREMACY!
I could never pick a favourite crow but Jesper has been on my mind a lot more than the others ever since I finished the show. Honestly, though, he was amazing and the moments with milo the goat killed me. The casting was amazing, the guy playing him really was able to embody all his wit and charm.

Having the SIx of Crows characters in Shadow and Bone was a true stroke of genius
all three of them were literally amazing in their roles. their performances were so on point, their body language, their facial expressions... Even if the show's events are not included in the actual soc duology, it still felt accurate and not fanfiction-ish at all, which was my main concern. also that darkling and kaz interaction was amazing.

I'm not a fan of Shadow and bone trilogy but I love Six of crows duology. I was nervious of how writters would add original material to enlace the Dregs with Alina plotline but OMG they did it fantastic. My favorite scenes were When Jesper had his badass shooter moment after being calm by Milo, Inej doing her acrobatic routine and Kaz pinning with the eyes and Kaz vs the Inferni. Can't wait to see their chemestry with Nina, Matthias and Wylan.

Cast is great, but I'm especially impressed by Carter as Kaz. His character could easily turn into a cringy wannabe edgy dude under a lesser actor. Thankfully, Carter is so convincing in the role that Kaz feels like a proper badass.
Ok, but why we don't talk about the part when Inej says that she learned how to stitch herself up at the menagerie and Jesper says Kaz would kill Heleen himself if he knew that?
They need a spin off show for them because sitting through the shadow and bone content was so difficult. They're just two completely different vibes and I always wanted to go back to the crows cause they're always doing something out of pocket 💀

I never read the shadow and bone series, but I did read the side series "six of crows", about Kaz and his crew, even so, I still stayed up till midnight to wait for fo the premiere of the series and finished it in one sitting. I really liked it, and it felt amazing to finally see the characters brought to life.

Okay so I never read the books (I'm not much of a fantasy book genre at all) and on a whim decided to give this show a try. I thought it was going to be like any other YA show and I really didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did. It was really good! I didn't give two hoots about Alina and Mal and the test of them but what I REALLY liked about the show were these three- Jesper, Kaz and Inej. And of course the romantic tension between Kaz and Inej. MAN THOSE TWO ARE AMAZING. Someone who has read the books, please tell me that they get together!
Most book readers agree with you that the Crows and their books are much more entertaining than the original trilogy, haha
If you actually want to know whether Kaz and Inej get together - it’s not that simple, since both of them (Kaz especially) have some trauma in their backstories that makes things difficult. But their relationship does develop in a way that I think is really satisfying
you should definitely read the six of crows duology! believe me you won't regret it☺

@@killerfrost9544 no, not really I also read six of crows before reading the s&b trilogy and as long as you have a vague understanding of the grishas (what they are and what they can do) then you should be fine. But then again, I went into the six of crows series without knowing anything and I still fell in love with it! 😆🙌🏼
