Joseph Frank "Buster" Keaton was an American actor, comedian, film director, producer, screenwriter, and stunt performer. He was best known for his silent films, in which his trademark was physical comedy with a consistently stoic, deadpan expression, earning him the nickname "The Great Stone Face."
In 1999, the American Film Institute ranked him the 21st greatest male star of classic Hollywood cinema.
The films Keaton pay homage to his earlier work while exploring the possibilities of “Elmer,” his new comic persona.

From 13:33 to 13:43 = in the background you can see "Atwood's", a coffee shop that still exists and is now renamed "Sidewalk Cafe", it is located at 1401 Ocean Front Walk, Venice, CA.

I've seen that newspaper joke in a newer film. Just shows you, they do steal from the best. Keaton, Laurel and Hardy, Chaplin, Lloyd, Tati, Sellers, all genius' throughout time.

This is my favourite Keaton film! Wickedly funny, the inspired set piece at the end and the hilarious 'high sign'! I know people rave about The General but this is undoubtedly one of his finest! 🙌🏻🖤
Edit: also love the banana skin gag! 👌🏻🤣

We've always loved Buster Keaton! In the '70's, when we lived in Jakarta, there was no TV so we all watched home movies and reel to reel films. These were always our favorites! Charlie Chaplin and Harold Lloyd were always second. Fatty's mugging was always hilarious too. The only thing I would ask is: Please let the movie complete before putting up the boxes with the other features! We miss alot of fun in those last minutes. Thank you for putting these up here!

They don’t make anything like this anymore. Such athleticism and fun and prank falls. I grew up watching old movies on Saturday at our town theatre. They had old movies and entrance was a dime. .20 the next year..my mother sent me at 5 and told me to stay for the two showings. I LOVED it.

10:08 - Early film was a magical time, when one could make blatant ripoffs of popular characters. If not for the flat top hat, I'd think that character was the one we're all thinking of when looking at him.

I mean, that may count for this movie, but let’s just say early film was usually not very kind to use of each other’s intellectual propertise

Great Buster Keaton episode spoiled near the end by those two big click bait boxes covering the conclusion of the movie ? . Like sticking paper adverts for an authors other books across the final pages of the last chapter of his book youve been reading - Stupidity ! - Not clicking on any of your other tube movies ! - If I cannot see the whole of the movie ?
