The bit where he's running up and down the stairs in his building is so good. This may be one of my favourite movies of his. I love the crackly soundtrack as well, it's very charming.

"He was a lovely person and a supreme artist and, I think, one of the most beautiful people that was ever photographed" -- Orson Welles on Buster Keaton. Sums it up pretty well for me too.

More: "He was, as we are now beginning to realize the greatest of all the clowns in the history of the cinema...He was a lovely person, and a supreme artist, and I think one of the most beautiful people that was ever photographed...Keaton was beyond all praise, a very great artist, also a superb director. In the last analysis, nobody came near him…I wish I’d known him better than I did. A tremendously nice person, you know, but also a man of secrets. I can’t even imagine what they were." - Orson Welles

And you don’t argue with Orson Welles. You just don’t.

Beautiful, artistic comedy that never ages. Best stunts and gags that are still funny and charming, and will continue to be funny for generations to come. We are so lucky to have the films and shorts of a creative, comic talent like Buster Keaton!

This movie made me cry. Not many stunts or gags, but oh, his face! His acting still carried him through. He could've done more movies like this. Idk if he directed or written this, it's different, but still good.

AMAZING ❣❣❣ Many words to say about this movie !.. I thought Buster Keaton's best movie was The General (1926), but this movie is a masterpiece. The General was an action-packed movie, but this movie is loaded with heavy doses of emotion from start to finish. Buster Keaton's films became a benchmark for the films that came after him. This movie is one of the biggest examples of this.

Man with a Movie Camera was largely dismissed upon its initial release; the work's fast cutting, self-reflexivity, and emphasis on form over content were all subjects of criticism. Naturally, Buster Keaton has always been the dominant character in his films. Actresses were among the others who completed the films. In this movie, Marceline Day left her mark strongly. Even though Audrey Hepburn and Julia Roberts never speak, they can carry a movie with just their looks. Marceline Day inspired these actresses with this movie. She was magic !!!

@Molly R. Goates Anyway, this film is a real masterpiece. No great interference by the studio for be shooting in New York and be directed (assisted) by Keaton's friend director Edward Sedgwick. Maybe, beginning of the end, but it don't is show in none form or aspect in the film.
