Keaton in good form. That poor horse looked a bit emaciated. Excellent street scenes. A precursor by 6 decades of the Blues Bros. chase by all the city's police.

The horse had the ribs painted to appear emaciated, until it received the "goat gland" treatment and started to act like a young stallion. Was used as a reference to a miraculous medical procedure that was exposed as a fraud in those days. Search "Goat Gland - John Brinkley". Years after the term was used as a nickname when finished silent movies were re-edited, incorporating a music soundtrack or a small talkie sequence ("the goat gland").
