I am a proud korean, and please let me discuss on this matter. I will only write based in the info I have perceived. Hanbok is actually clothing that was made in the times of the ancient han dynasty, when big unions of tribes ruled Korea. Also, Korea has a history of constant influence from china, whether korea wanted it or not, which influenced hanbok too, as many other people say here. Hanfu is traditional clothing from the later Yuan~Ming dynasty, as the people here say, but they seem to be influenced from the Korea(korean dynasty in the 1300s) style clothing, which actually gained significant popularity in the Yuan dynasty. Even taking this to account, Hanfu has traits of its own differing from the Korean traditional clothing hanbok. This arguing began when a chinese game called Shining Niki made a clothing which traits like the long clothespiece on the front of hanbok and the symbolic knot on it told it was hanbok and NOT hanfu. Shining niki named this clothing hanfu, thus creating a manipulated image on hanbok that hanbok was hanfu. This caused anger between Koreans, who have treated hanbok like its symbol of the country. Before that, there has been no attempt by koreans to steal chinese culture, as many koreans were practically ignorant of chinese traditional culture. Because of this, it is not true that us koreans are thieves of chinese culture, as we are working to protect, not take. I see many koreans doing their shit on the comments. That is the very reason why the foreigners neither from china nor korea here are leaning towards china's argument. We should accept what is right and rebut what is wrong to acheive international recog nition of hanbok being korea's. Thank you for reading this till the end, and please rebut me with logic if there is anything wrong. Hanbok is korea's, and Hanfu without anything grearly similar to hanbok is china's.
During the Ming Dynasty, Korean hanboks were popular in China under the name of goryeoyang, and the king of Ming restricted Chinese people from wearing them, saying that goryeoyang ruined Chinese culture

Hanbok in this video is the real Hanbok, just like those Korean costume dramas I watched before, such as Dae Jang Geum. Although several sets of clothes are very similar to those of the Ming Dynasty, there is no big problem. When watching Dae Jang Geum, no one in China will say that the hanbok inside is China's dress.Hanfu is the dress of China, and of course there are many ethnic costumes. But now there are many new Korean costume dramas, which are obviously not Hanbok, and even use clothes from the Qin Dynasty(秦).The new Korean costume drama lost the traditional Hanbok. I don't know how Koreans feel.

Based on the quotes from Korean Kings and authoritative historical documents. Korea Hanbok is the one that was influenced by China Hanfu, not the other way around. Only some of the palace members and officials get married can they have the opportunity to wear Chinese official uniforms. This is their most beautiful clothes. Civilians will not wear this kind of clothes. They only wear white.
It is your illusion that civilians only wear white. The clothes you are talking about are clothes you wear when you get married. It's like a wedding dress. However, it is not a perfect Ming garment. There's a bit of Yuan culture mixed in

Or do people just take them off one by one? I wondered about this because i wondered about how poofy hanbok skirts are, then finding out about the layers you need to wear.
It’s so funny to see that how Chinese are pissed off in this comment line lmao. You Chinese say that every Asian culture is belongs to China, but Chinese tradition was already burned by the Chinese in 1960s cultural revolution. Hanfu and hanbok have different structures.

Claiming Hanfu's characteristics and styles belong to Hanbok only shows ignorance. Hanbok shares similarities with Hanfu because ancient Korea adopted Chinese costumes and headgears. You can use them, but you don't have the right to distort history or claim these Hanfu features as Korean origin. Hanfu is for everyone, but Hanfu is Chinese

Stupid people! 15 years ago, when I was in China, one Chinese professor was always wearing qipao during the class, she said that it was our traditional clothing and she felt proud of it.
In fact, I had never even heard the word Hanfu 2000 years ago.

Hanbok is traditional Korean costume. So read the line King Joseon Gojong said our costumes all conformed to Song, China, again and again. LOL.

It is funny that people who do not understand the culture and history of other countries discuss history. Do you know when King Gojong was a person?
It is disgusting that Chinese who are mired in chauvinistic thinking like the Nazis distort history.
@@yosi2761 When history makers cannot deny they are biasing history. They become mad. You are the first one I have seen, who tries to bias Hanbok as daily dress so it has nothing to do with Hanfu. LOL. Unfortunately, break-exposing Jeogori was the daily dress for Korean even during 1950: fromfukuoka.wordpress.com/2013/08/30/breast-exposing-hanbok-or-breast-exposing-ejogori-2/.
