You are the best and most thorough watercolor teacher on the web. I've had it on my bucket list to get to be a somewhat adequate painter of watercolor flowers, and this year+ of quarantine, and being in the house seems the time. This one is the second of yours I've watched. Thank you for being so thorough! And your personality and lovely voice and accent just make it all more enjoyable. Thank you!
Wow Gale this is such a lovely thing to say, I really appreciate you saying it.
Best teaching point was what you taught about the circles. In a hundred or so tutorials I never heard that before. Thank you so very much.
Glad it was helpful!
I am SOOO very glad I searched here on RUclips for help in drawing/ painting daffodils in watercolor!! Your tutorial here is what I SOOO desperately needed, Harriet. I took two pages of notes. Tomorrow, when I get home from tests and Dr appt, I am going to draw and paint daffodils. I will need a good relaxing time after the hours at the hospital.
Thank you so very much for this, Harriet.
Thank you for this tutorial. I've just finished mine and quite happy with it. I've framed it to give my mum on Mother's Day. When I was little my Dad would take my brothers and I to buy daffodils for her on Mother's Day then we'd go home to make her breakfast in bed. (back when one bunch was 10 pence!). I live overseas and haven't seen her for a few years so I hope this brings back some memories for her and makes her smile.
Ah what a lovely memory
New to watercolours and a clear tutorial- very calm and relaxing with no annoying background music.
Awesome, thank you!
Hi Harriet I have just painted these again and as a beginner I can definitely see improvement. I love your flowers, thank you
Wonderful!
Beautiful daffodils, the best daffodil tutorial I've seen! . 😊🌾
Wow, thank you!
I just love this. The transparency of the flowers is just superb. I would never think it was so easy to paint the trumpets. Well you made it LOOK easy. Lol. They are just gorgeous. Thank you so much
this is beautiful. I am a beginner watercolour artist and loved that you were left handed. (unless my screen is screwed up lol!) but as a new painter and left hander it was easier to understand the strokes and how you held your hand. I am constantly getting the side of my hand in my work. Thank you again lovely. - from Canada but born in UK.
I am definitely left handed! Thanks for watching!
Such beautiful daffodils. Your teaching of the details such as shading and how to show depth is very helpful! I always look forward to your next video.
Thanks so much 😊
A brilliant demonstration.
Every year I struggle with trying to
Paint daffodils in watercolour without
Success. I will try again this year and
Watch this several times. You do have some
Very fine brushes I notice.
Thank you
Thanks Beryl, yes I always list what brushes I’ve used in the episode notes
I am new to watching your tutorials, but I really love that you make the flowers very realistic and yet not so detailed to make me feel overwhelmed. Thank you, Harriet. These are lovely.
You’re welcome 😊
Wonderful reminder of Spring to come. 💕
Yes indeed!
Delicate & beautiful,just as Mother Nature intended.💛
Yes indeed!
Daffodils are one of my favorite spring flowers. I have them all around my house! These are beautiful, can’t wait to start painting these!
Wonderful! They're so cheerful aren't they
Harriet you have a fantastic way of teaching. You make even the very inexperienced like me think I'm going to have a go. Loved doing this daffodil along with you. Thank you xx
Thanks so much 😊
You provide amazing and helpful tutorials! Your final artwork is absolutely lovely! Thank you!
Thanks Donna!
Hi lovely. Thank you so much on how you start off drawing the lovely Daffodil. Beautiful so much movement 😊
Thank you so much 😀
Really enjoyed watching you paint these daffodils especially explaining the colours used and how you used the colours and brushes etc. Oh your painting is beautiful!
Thank you so much 😀
This is lovely. It’s a flower I’ve never got quite right so I’ll definitely be trying this.
I think it’s harder than it looks. That might be why it’s taken so long for me to do a tutorial!
Lovely! I am starting with one, this morning my husband told me daffodils are his favorite flower, and I also decided to pick one flower to master, so this will be it. Thank you Harriet!!!
Wonderful!
What a lovely start to the day to see your lovely painting demonstration.Thank you
My pleasure 😊
I learned how do layering with this video. I learned how draw daffodils and paint the trumpet. Also I learned how to blend the greens for the stems of the flowers. I felt like I took a good class. It's the second time I watched it. I will watch again as I paint the flowers. It's so nice to just stop n start and keep doing as you are. Hoping mine are half as lovely as yours. Thank you Harriet so much for the time and effort you put into your tutorials. Who is the person behind the camera? Good job to whomever.
Ah thank you so much Marlene. The person behind the camera is my husband, Ant. He also edits the videos!
I love these daffodils! You are an excellent tutor!
Thanks so much!
They do look fantastic!💛Beautifully loose and that layering to create just the right amount of definition💫So in love with your controlled loose painting style💛The filming is so great and clear, makes it so easy to see everything in detail, thank you Harriet for another fabulous tutorial!
Thanks so much 😊
I remember violets from my childhood. We'd pick them as a neighborhood woman, Sally, took a bunch of us on a walk.
There were purple ones, white ones, and mixed up purple-white ones. 😊
Thank you so much for that lovely Spring painting lesson. I thoroughly enjoyed it. 🌻🌷🌺
Thanks Yvonne!
So delicate and fresh looking! Mine have started blooming! these are beautiful!
Wonderful!
It’s fascinating to watch you paint, while listening to your informative and light hearted commentary. These daffodils are beautiful. Thank you Harriet.
Glad you like them!
Such lovely daffodils! Thank you for this very comprehensive tutorial. I’m new to watercolor and I appreciate all of the details you provided.
Thanks Renee!
Absolutely beautiful work! I enjoy the patience you put into your painting.😊
Thank you so much 😀
Thanks I’m getting better I’ve worked in oil’s and I love them but wanted to work with watercolor and I really like it and your teaching me but I must have the set of brushes that you are using most of mine can be used but they don’t have the rounded with point brushes I need for the water. I m understanding the use of water daily so thank you 😊 again for teaching me how. Have a wonderful day!
Thanks so much Sharon!

I love daffodils and needed this today as we are having a winter storm here in Michigan and are in the process of getting 8-10 inches of snow. I will be painting these later. Thank you so much for the wonderful tutorial!
Sounds great!
Super duper tutorial. I will be having a go tomorrow when my husband goes to work on a late shift. Can’t wait to delve in ☺️
Good luck!!
After I looked at your flower paintings, I just wondered myself where are the daffodils.
They are absolutely one of my favourites. But know you have painted them I do think they are not the easiest.
I have often done that mistake with the paint brush having a much too bigger one and my stems get too thick. Thanks for that. And they are fast better that the real ones outdoors. You are such a good painter and a good teacher it's so calming to hear you. Bye
Glad you like them!
The daffodil was adopted in 1919 as the official flower of Brantford, Ontario, where I live and they have planted hundreds of them in different locations around the city .... it’s so lovely to walk or drive around and see them
Wow thank you Diane!

I adore daffodils. They are one of my very favorites. And I agree we tend to have a more special connection with the wilder versions of the flowers. At least I do. It was the same with the irises too. Thank you for yet another fabulous video
