    Best thing about BTS breaking the record is that the song actually means something it isn't just about drama and shit. And the fact that **half** of the comments are in different languages other than Korean means that people all over the world (who most likely do not or cannot fluently speak or understand Korean) is huge. Ok so I'm not a k-pop fan, I really don't like most of the industry, but I've been a huge fan of BTS for a few months now because I love their music, what they stand for, and the fact that they actually became idols because of their love of writing and producing music unlike most idols. Their company also gives them a completely fair share of the money and has very few restrictions, unlike most companies which give their artists glorified slave contracts. I see all kinds of comments all the time, whether it's simply "lol bts are gay" or uninformed comments about how they aren't involved in their own stuff. I just really wish people would at least look into them a bit before making assumptions about them, and who cares if they're gay? Also, honestly I get people who say they won't get into the fandom because of the toxic fans, but from what I've experienced most fans are super nice and the toxic ones are the most vocal but get called out by others. Plus, you don't even have to be involved with the fanbase, just support and respect them and that's enough.

    • @radlord224
      @radlord224 6 лет назад +55

      See I agree with you mostly, but for some people it depends. For some people it’s easy to ignore the toxic fans, and for others a group’s fan base is a huge part of stanning. I’m not an ARMY but I definitely respect them and like some of their music (especially idol, it’s a song that I loved but a lot of people didn’t?) and sometimes it’s difficult to ignore the toxics that, for example, take ships too seriously

      I like some of their songs and I think they`re very talented, but what I find really strange is that on all their music videos I`ve ever watched, the comments are flooded with people obsessing over how many views they have gotten. Like, ok, you want to break a record or something, but I scrolled down pretty far and didn`t see one comment dedicated to that specific song and video, just all about views.
      And yea, the fanbase from the outside seems very pretentious, obnoxious and toxic, but that could be said about many large fanbases. It shouldn`t discourage people from listening to good music.

    Regards to the Pewdiepie-/T-Series-story: I think it actually is kinda sad. Even though a lot of people have felt like it for so long, the fact that a *massive multimedia conglomerate* will take the #1 spot says a lot about the path RUclips took and how they changed from the days of Fred, =3, Smosh and Nigahiga. It's not "hey pick up a camera and start rolling" any more it's ad-sense, marketing, surveys and targeting groups. I don't know, maybe I'm romanticizing the age of yore but I still think it's sad.

    I think the T Series surpassing Pewds is a great reflection of the future of RUclips. Felix was the past where an individual can actually make it big on this platform but the way RUclips sets its algorithms, it is now the big companies that are surpassing the average content creator. Let us just say, Jimmy Kimmel and all those other TV shows, always show up in trending and the things that are actually trending don't appear there.
    RUclips is selling out to these big companies and the channel subscription comparison between pewds and t series is a good example of what we should expect in the future of RUclips.

If you replay the video 100 times in 24 hours and ask others to do so to break a record, what have you or the band actually gained? If anything the fever might deter some people.

      I understand what your getting at. Solo career makers worked hard to get where they are at now. Companies and famous celebrities will immediately get over 1 million subscribers, cause people knows them from some other media (news, movies, reality tv shows, ect.) At the same time they are taking views and are taking new viewers who may see these up and coming or already popular RUclipsrs away from them and just get more popular and fill up the trending with them. Also they get revenue from ads compare to Pewdiepie who doesn't or if by chance he does get an ad.

    As I wrote on Pewdiepie's videos about Tseries:
    The Tseries-channel does not count because a company runs it. A real channel is determined by years or hard work by a person/team, like Pewds' channel and not a huge music company that has existed since the 80s. So if Tseries somehow passes Pewds in subscriber count, it does not count.

I sprained my ankle and left the hospital as quick as I could and arrived before the time of the hearing. But because I informed the court when I was in the ambulance they actually put a warrant out and sent the police to the hospital to try arrest me! ! So they werent there at the time of the hearing I WAS!!! Yet I had to pay about $1400 and wont get bail again without applying under a certain section of the law!! Even if I am arrested falsely again. I have been arrested over 50 times for things that either never happened wasnt me or werent illegal. Been arrested 12 times for self defence (unarmed) against attackers with knives bottles bats guns etc it is hilarious. It controls over 95% of the music industry distribution in india, which mainly comes from Bollywood movies, which means they're licensed to distribute all the popular music in an industry.
    It would have been similar if Vevo didn't have "Justin Bieber Vevo" "Selena Gomez Vevo" Taylor swift Vevo" , but instead had only "Vevo", one channel, whict would distribute all the music of this industry..

    For once I agree with California. You shouldn't have to wait for a trial, if you are potentially innocent, which we all are under the law until proven otherwise in a court of law, in a jail cell, just because you cant afford bail. And also money shouldn't be involved in your freedom, ever.

    • @iridiancontreras5951
      @iridiancontreras5951 6 лет назад +1

      Andrew Cuthbertson California style regulation rarely works. It sounds nice but it also opens the state and municipalities to new lawsuits if a person is released and commits a crime that involves a victim, who could then sue. That's why Own Recognizance is a thing. Vast majority of people charged with lower crimes never have to post bail. Best thing to do is not commit a crime.

    Speaking as a former bank teller who dealt with a couple of customers who were faced with having to either open a "bail bond" account for either themselves or another person; these things are relentless and devastating for those who are of a "normal" income bracket.
    A woman I worked with on a daily basis, who on average had about 10K in her accounts liquid, was left constantly overdrawing her account and using her credit cards for cash advances to try to keep up with a bail bond payment she had to take out for a person in her life.
    It was so very very sad and frustrating having to try to help her out while still following the bank standards.
    We tried to waive as many overdraft charges to her account, sadly it got to the point where the bank itself automatically shut it down for being in the deficit for so long. Afterwards she still came to us to take cash advances on her cards, because we were her lifelong bank and knew all of us that worked there...
    Keep in mind - this woman went from being a lavish lively cheerful woman to a shell of a defeated being. I never saw someone more stressed out.
    I just hope the person she was bailing out was worth it. I left the job/bank before really knowing what happened to her, but I hope it's all situated by now.
    But yeah, the system is severely broken; I just hope the fix works for the better.

    People have so much to gain if they grow from their racist preconceptions. I really like that you emphasized how different it is for a Korean group to surpass an American established artist in numbers, and it's not only in RUclips, they are actually scoring high chartings in the US industry, competing with many established local artists who have MASSIVE general public support. BTS is one of the biggest role models that our generation is choosing to represent us (the majority of their fandom is 20-30 aged, though we do have MANY others with different ages who also feel connected to their speech). They are humble men who came from a snubbed small company, worked themselves to the top and since the beginning have been participating actively in the production of their music, all of this while speaking about many issues that people at any age can relate to. They are growing up as people along with their fandom in a very close and honest relationship and that's why they have such an enormous and dedicated fanbase. We've tasted a bit of the prejudice barrier that they have to face to make it in American industry (where a huge amount of their fans live). Anyone who thinks we are a bunch of teenage girls using our parents money to support some pretty boys is completely uninformed (not to mention how sexist it is...). We are a multiracial fandom, with huge fanbases all over the world, we have big projects directed to charity work, we spread their message about mental health and youth and frequently discuss these issues among ourselves, making our fandom a safe space for people from all over the world, speaking any language, at any age to grow from their difficulties, support BTS for the outspoken artists they are and still work for our communities globally. If you are reading and didn't know about any of this, maybe you should stop making assumptions about people you don't know and do your research on BTS and ARMY (their fandom). We are much more than what worldwide media gives us credit for.

    I am usually not a fan of California politics, but I love this bail reform. Speaking from personal experience I can tell you it is very difficult to mount your case and prepare your defense from a jail cell where you have limited to no access to attornies, phone calls, law information, the media, family, friends, and more that can be very helpful in a court case. I do however think it is important to be careful in deciding who gets freed before their court date because you don't wan't to see somebody get released and go murder a witness. But for non violent offenders I think this is great.

Also, everybody isn't going to be let out. For the majority of people, it isn't worth becoming a criminal on the run just for stealing a car radio. The people that are going to be kept in jail are the really bad criminal and runners. Lastly, as Phil said, they can put ankle trackers on suspected thieves and the like.

      It should just be abolished and everyone held until a court hearing then. Not this 'elite council' and government people who oversee them getting to decide who gets jailed or not until a court date.
      Also idiot, wealth is not a zero sum system. The total amount in existence is constantly increasing and the total wealth of everyone is going up. Perspective matters here, otherwise you don't realize that capitalism works for everyone involved (except those who contribute nothing to civilization) making all richer. What you call poor today is so much richer then the poor from 100 years ago. It doesn't matter how rich anyone gets as long as you don't allow them to buy power in government and keep a government that applies law to all individuals equally with laws that criminalize actions and those responsible of damages to others private property and health.
      Poor people punish themselves and asshole manipulative activist groups tell them they should be mad because they are relatively poor to the rich and famous idiots idealize on TV living life today at the most luxurious levels current achievable to all of our species. Those rich people don't deserve to be getting millions to act in a movie but those who run massive businesses that enrich thousands of people bringing goods and services to market for offer that people want and trade for without any cohesion being required. Those people give to the world and were all better off for it.
      Just because you are not living in a 50 bedroom 10 bathroom house with millions in your name doesn't mean those that have scaled something to levels that put something on shelf's all over the world available to 7 billion people to trade for like a candy bar where they make 2 cents for each sale but sell 2 million a day don't deserve it.
      "Wahhhhh!! I do nothing for society but complain but I deserve a private jet, or at least those who have them shouldn't be allowed to have things they paid for with money they worked for that I obviously don't deserve because I'm a naive shallow envious lazy moron."

    Personally never really understood the American bail system. Always looked like a money grab that favoured the rich to me. In the UK we don't have a cash bail system and I don't remember us ever having one. If someone is deemed dangerous or a flight risk they are remanded in custody until trial (not let free). If they aren't dangerous or a flight risk then they are released under strict bail conditions which can be anything from GPS monitoring with an ankle devise to having to present themselves at the police station a certain amount of times a week at a certain time and if they fail to do so then they are remanded in custody. It's never caused an issue with people not showing up at court. It would seem to me that paying to house and feed a lot of prisoners simply awaiting trial would cost a lot of money for the government in the US. I've never understood why American tax payers seem content to pay for it.

    • @beardedemperor
      @beardedemperor 6 лет назад

      "It's never caused an issue with people not showing up at court." Yes it has, from time to time, but so has the US system where rich people have just paid the bail and skipped town.

      Because whether you come back to court or not, the system still gets its money 10 bucks at least, times that by 2000 people and that's a conservative number that's 10,000 bucks they didn't have before .
      Its greed that's all and out Justice system is full of it , they (cops) write tickets that than Judge says he/she can't lower below certain amount in court, the cop pulled the number out of thin air and you mean now I'm penalized permanently, now that is BS.

      People skip court rather than get their money back--even large amounts of money. It's like guilty people dont _like_ jail or something. Frankly, I'd rather the release of offenders back into the public be based on their danger to society and flight risk than their bank balance.

    Definitely a great step for California, but far from perfect. Still don't feel good about allowing individuals to determine who will be kept in custody, like the ACLU said.
    But if after some time, we can look at the statistics and see if there isn't any type discrimination being done to people of different economic wealth or race, hopefully the rest of the US will follow.
    If a city like DC could save $400 million, imagine how much one of the biggest economies and the most populous state will save annually?

  • @dmc8706

    I think it's ridiculous that the bail industry can sue to stop a law from being put in place. I understand that this law will eliminate their jobs, however no part of the free market is more important then treating people fairly under the law. The presumption of innocence is being ignored when people are in prison simply because they cannot pay their bail prior to their trial.
    On a separate but related note, this new law may not be perfect but at least it's a step in the right direction. Let's experiment with ways to replace this ridiculous cash bail system.
    Also if bonding agencies want to maintain their jobs then perhaps instead of suing the government for taking a step towards a just system, maybe they could find a way to encourage the government to continue to pay for bounty hunting. Currently bounty hunting is a part of the bail industry, that part of the industry doesn't necessarily need to disappear. If it could change along with the current laws then a portion of that industry could be saved.

      @@Ishmiester most people use Bond under the current system. The whole argument in favor of bail is that you get the bail money back if you show up at trial. However if you take out a bond that means that you pay 10% of the bail, then the Bonding Agency pays the rest. Then when you show up at trial the BONDING AGENCY gets the money. In other words thanks to bonding agencies bail is no longer an assurance of any kind. In spite of this, the vast majority of people show up at trial anyway.
      Think about it, if you're on trial for a minor crime you're not going to flee the country. Under the current system if you're on trial for a major or violent crime you can still get out as long as you have the money. Under the new proposed system, people who are on trial for violent and very serious offenses are the ones who will be held in prison until their trial. Doesn't that make a lot more sense from the perspective of preventing flight risk while limiting unnecessary spending and pretrial imprisonment for minor offenses?
