Great Dane is a somewhat heavier trailer but a good one , Utility is probably the lightest of the group, but they're solid and they pull well Wabash is a good trailer as well though I never pulled a Wabash or Vanguard . If I were buying a reefer it would be a Utility based on my personal experience... Just saying...
@@AntNvrt carrier reefer are good units. They don’t have egr like the thermoking s600 or 700 units. Free breathing kubota engine quite reliable. I have seen them run with over 40000hrs engine hrs.
I just start working for Vanguard and definitely looking forward to see what this company offers to the trucking industry, they are a subsidiary of the CIMC Vehicle Group, that builds tank equipment for food beverage and chemical. looks like I made the right Choice. thanks for the video
Over 15 y experience with GD, Utility and Wabash. For last 5y bought over 10 Vanguards. Very good build quality, temperature control and value. Definitely recommend.
I had 2006 utility I sold it in 2018 to a guy I know until now he’s working with my trailer and I never had any issues with floors they are strong but didn’t knew they come wood inside for reefers ?
I got Great Dane 2009 and after 10 years floor collapsed. No rust protection on metals so rust on crossmembers make them crack. Vanguard has galvanized steel crossmembers so will last longer. Utility floor looks ugly but threshold is stronger than in GD. When shipper put plate on floor in GD the edge of plate grinds that threshold and every a few months needs repair....
Is your Great Dane is the ss model (superseal). My trailers ran from California to Florida. So the truck and trailer don’t get expose to the snow much. Maybe that’s why I had better luck with Greatdane. Thank you for sharing your experience.
Utility uses wood however there is a polymer coating that covers it that keeps down corrosion. i have sold and worked on utility's for 8 years. GD and utility are the best in the reefer game.
@citizenofearth1000 I have 30 vanguards now Parts are not an issue I get mine same day or next morning. Utilitys I have 9 and they suck on every level they are light doors are flimsy honeslty just junk and they are 2024s.
@@Largecar2165 I had to get a body repair for the vanguard everything was back ordered. My experience was totally different than yours. Good to know your situation is different than mine.
Under the aluminum duct floor they use wood to save weight. When you get holes I’m in the aluminum duct floor Moisture and water enters degraded the wood that how you get floor Collapsing. You probably seen the trailers with steel plates on part of the floor. This is most common Reason why you need steel plates on floor.
This is straight out of utility website (full length hardwood) 20K aluminum duct floor system 1½" extruded aluminum 20,000 lb high wear duct floor system features 12" centerline crossmembers with full length hardwood fillers from sustainable sources and integral 10" heavy-duty extruded aluminum non-tapered wearband.
@@citizenofearth1000 aluminum plates on the floor is because forklift driver put a hole in the floor or at one time the trailer was loaded with a corrosive product that leaked and ate a hole in the aluminum floor.
You should not have taken your sleepy time medicine when you did this video my God already going to sleep it's only 30 seconds in.

I own 2 Great Dane in the past ,and now am running a Utility, is the best decision I ever made. Utility is way better.
Good to know did you get brand new or used

I have (2) 2006 Utility trailers that look great and the floor is solid.
Very nice!

Great Dane use composite however utility uses hardwood as filler under the aluminum duct floor
Ok, you can spec out a gd to be as light as a utility but they usually have more cross members to keep them stronger but makes them alittle heavier
Utility is good trailer however the aluminum floor does age faster then Greatdane trailer. It’s my personal experience with the two brand.
Wabash.. Heavy and stable in Wyoming bitchy weather lol
How long have had the wabash trailers. I wanted know how was your long term experience like.
