Jamie's progression is a prime example of how effective it is to surround yourself with people who are better than you. If you ride with people who are insane riders they can give you tips. But more importantly, you can see first hand how achievable some of this stuff is and they can hype you up. Push you to go further because they know you can do it. This goes beyond MTB, BMX or any kind of action sports. Surrounding yourself with smart, successful and talented people in other areas of life can rub off on you as well. It's just a great thing to try and surround yourself with people who are doing great at this whole life thing. Not to take anything away from Jamie of course, he's killing it. But it's a lot harder to progress when you're just riding alone or with people who are on your same level or below. You have to visualize it all in your head instead of seeing it in person. I know first hand how hard that can be. I came from BMX and had a bunch of fellow riders/skaters/roller blader friends I would hit the skatepark with. One of them is now a pro rider for a big BMX brand. I remember when he was a 13 year old kid on a beat up 16" BMX because he couldn't afford to get a proper bike until the local bike shop got him sorted out. Then he was an unbelievable rider. But I started MTB around 4 months ago and while my BMX experience has allied me to basically go straight to the black diamond jump lines and I've taken to it rather quickly. I don't really know any MTB riders. All of my BMX friends only ride street or park. I've slowly been meeting people at the trails and always have some nice chats when out and about. But I mostly ride MTB solo and it's hindering my progression. Just wanted to speak to how important (and more fun) riding with talented riders is.
Scooped up a used Alcatraz the other day and it feels pretty damn good. Gonna spread my wings this weekend, can’t wait. Keep the videos coming gentlemen.
My suggestion is to rework the section on the main line after the ramp jump. Make it able to build up more speed... maybe cut left right after jump and have more rollers and where the little hip is you'll be ripping a berm. The hope is to make it all the way back up that landing and then you can decide to go into the quarter or perhaps another line going backwards.
Just a thought on the Bunker - you could add a steeper raised landing in the centre of the Bunker entry ramp to transition into from Main Line for some extra boost into the quarter pipe!

You guys could get a 4 wheeler and put smooth tires or car tires on it to pack in some of the bigger stuff. Clint Reynolds has one and they been using it at posh or catty can't remember which one off hand but it looks like it's way easier for sure. Also Jaimie if you dont worry so much about turning when you're airing things you might find it a little more enjoyable. Almost seems like you're whipping the back tire into the quarter a little bit. Just use that arch and bunny hop hard!
Hey Ben, can we get Matt on a freecoaster BMX sometime? I'd like to see how his fakies turn out without having to backpedal (though the actual fakie motion is harder without pedal pressure.) The BMX videos are some of my favorites. We need to get you boys back in the skatepark and back on the jib bikes. Those videos are hilarious lmao.
Matt, turn the quarter into a split quarter; the right half being less steep. This way you could 180 without casing, or fly out the less steep side into another line!
