if using a coffee filter would filter out all of the flavor, why is it when I use a coffee filter for making coffee it doesn't filtered out all the flavor?
That's a good point, and probably because the coffee is finer and can pass through the smaller micron of the filter, where as the juice has bigger particles that get trapped in the filter, only allowing the smaller particles through, and thus the density of the flavour dynamically can change when filtered. Resulting in a thinner spirit that has a lot of the flavour trapped in the filter. Might be the way to go if you want less intense flavour. Kind of like how pulp has flavour in orange juice, but unlike orange juice, the flavour might be noticeably less strong when filtered with a paper coffee filter. Coincidently have you tried adding pepper to coffee before filtering? Tried it today, and it was smoother than normal. Quite bizarre.
