The Perfect Tire Size: Will 285/75/17 All Terrains Actually Fit on a Lifted 4Runner?

- Shout out to Aired-Down Overland for recommending 285/75/17s for the 5th Gen 4Runner. Definitely the perfect tire size!
My suspension: Toytec Boss Aluma 2.5 with Remote Reservoirs and Total Chaos UCAs. 3 inch lift in back, 2” lift up front with diff drop.
With RCI full skids ground clearance is 11.25” at lowest point up front and approximately 11” under rear diff.
I have 285/75r17 Toyo Open Country AT3s. Went with Ironman Sea Foam Coilovers and the UCA they provide with 4° of caster. All i did was get rid of front mud flap and did a round Body mount chop and she was good to go for fire roads and street. Still need to trim some for trail riding. But happy with the results so far
Sounds like an incredible setup. I’m sure I will need to go higher on my cut job. All this stuff takes fine tuning once you hit the trails! Happy wheeling!

I have 285/75/17 on my Tundra with a 2 inch lift. Seems a little big for a 4Runner but if it works go for it. Also, Falken Wildpeaks are the best
I’ll let you know how it goes after my first few trails☺️. Will likely take some fine tuning. How do Tundras do fitting bigger tires?
