- Celebrating Chinese New Year (Lunar New Year) isn't very common in our home, or in our town, but it was fun to be able to introduce Katelyn to some of her roots and teaching her about some fun things from the celebration.
I hope to be able to celebrate for real in Vietnam next year

Basically it is Chinese New Year. China ruled VN 1000 years and has many cultural influences from China today.
I agree with that. it's very interesting that in Vietnam it's the year of the cat but china it's the rabbit.
@@JohnLe i am confused too. Why did Vn replace rabbit for cat even though it copied China’s new year? Maybe Vn wants make little bit difference from China? It is similiar to Japan and Korea. They copied China’s architecture, many language words, martial arts etc then they made almost differences from China now they have called Japanese and Korean stuffs.
Happy Chinese New Year!!!!
