From 1982 on, pretty much all stereo decks had Dolby C-Type. 1985 was the year the switch to black occurred. While silver versions were usually available in '85, they sold very poorly. But, in 1986 and then on, you didn't see silver again until the mid 90s. I'd say that deck is from around 1984. :)

I did spot the belt, but at first thought you did it to keep some tension on the belt while fitting, so it didn't drop off the counter pulley

Hey Paul. Yes sometimes it is strange. The decks seem to like playing tricks on us and laugh about it. But in the end they love the service and reward it with a performance like they were freshly unboxed. Cheers and go on with your videos. I love them and learn a lot.
What was the grease that you were using here, Also I noticed that in another one of your videos you had a 14 or 15khz Cal tape, do you record your own tapes? I am trying to finish the calibration on a JVC TD-V711, the service manual wants a 14khz tone to calibrate the azimuth, None of my tapes have a 14khz and I cant seem to find one......Thanks for the Videos
Hi there I use Molycote DX. Cheap as chips and works well.
The tape I have was purchased, eBay I think.
@@pwrestoration I just ordered some Molycote DX, I appreciate that, Regarding the Cal tapes tho, I usually get all my tapes right from eBay but the only one I can find that has a 14kHz is from Gennlab, IDK maybe I am being a cheap a$$ but the dude wants $110.00 + $77.00 shipping for a normal bias Type I Cassette. So if you or anyone else reading this happens to come across something even close to 14kHz at normal Cal tape prices....I will invite you to my birthday party or some S#it lol......Thanks again my guy love the Videos
