- In this episode of TFBTV Show Time, @Hoplopfheil visits the Shadow Systems booth at NRA Annual Meeting 2024 to check out the new CR920X. This is a new version of the CR920 micro double stack, with a longer grip that can accommodate a 15 round flush fit magazine or an 18 round extended magazine. The CR920X still has the same optics cut, compatible with K cut red dots, and is available as the flagship Elite model or the more entry level Foundation model.

Hop basically did this exact video on his channel a day or two ago. Glock isn’t in any real risk but the release of the new performance trigger indicates it’s starting to get the picture👌
@@hikeskool Thanks for the heads up on Hop's channel. Wish Glock had worked out a direct mount RMR optic cut rather than a better trigger but I'd like the winning lotto #s too & that ain't happening either.
@@coppernicklaus245 yeah man but it shows the absolute power Glock has in the market if manufacturers make red dots that mount directly to the MOS mount with no plate. Realistically I don’t know how Glock would make an OEM solution compatible with most red dots without plates. It’s a very “Glock” solution - makes 80 percent of people perfectly happy.
Hop’s channel has a lot of night vision which is of no interest to me but you probably know by now if he’s your type of guy or not.

Glock has a direct mount acro glock 45 and the performsnce trigger is not i repeat not for carry the performsce trigger has to be oild and cleaned per glock i jist went to a leo glock armor course

They had the CR920XP at NRA. Not sure why they haven't done videos for it yet.

I think the cuts on the top of the slide by the front barrel are a little weird but other than that it looks good. Is that their own mag? If so, I wonder about the reliability compared to PSAs mag
It is a different mag, not cross compatible

I've got an XR920. Love it and stone cold reliable. Glock is the sound people make when they are puking.
Wonder if they will make a sleeve to use with cr920 for the X mags. That would be interesting they did.
I talked to them in the booth and they said a sleeve is in development and hopefully will be out before the end of this year

Does this take the Shield Arms S15 mag for the G43X? The Shadow Systems website doesn't seem to sell magazines for the CR920X.

Don’t feel bad. This one has too long a grip. I love the concealability of the base model. The pinky extension for the 10 round mag is awesome.
But will their mags work in a Micro Dagger?

Anything you'd use a G43X for. Except you get factory 15rd magazine.
I handled one of these at NRAAM and it really felt good. Better than the G48 MOS, P365 Xmacro and Hellcat Pro (my favorite of those three). I daily carry a G17 size frame, so I don't need a small grip to shoot or conceal, so I probably wouldn't buy one of these.

The Foundation version is $599 they said in the video. The Elite version is $799.
Hop did say in his most recent video that the true "Glock Killer" will, in fact, be a Glock clone.
However, I don't think it will be a Shadow Systems pistol. I have a sneaking suspicion to whom that title belongs, but I will not divulge that information just yet.
Although, the current Gen 5 MOS with the new Glock Performance Trigger comes awfully close to being the "perfect" Glock - if there is such a thing.
Personally speaking, I just don't see the allure of all these Gen 3 Glock clones. I see a Pontiac Fiero with a Ferrari body kit. Suffice to say, you are not fooling me.

@@timjohnson8390 Well in that case: neither is 40 S&W. Why not advocate for a 10mm so you can shoot two more powerful rounds out of it (both 10mm and 40 S&W)?
That's like asking for a rifle that can only handle the pressure of .223 and not both 223 & 556. Or asking for a .38 spl revolver instead of one that can shoot both 357 & 38.
I'm really having a hard time understanding why someone who advocates for POWER!!! (read in Jeremy Clarkson's voice) is advocating for a 40 S&W instead of a 10mm when a 10mm can shoot both without changing capacity and while upping the amount of stopping power you get if you wanted to.
I'd also like to point out that probably the most important thing in a self defense situation will be shot placement over capacity or stopping power.
@@timjohnson8390 But I'm also guessing that Shadow Systems won't make a 10mm or 40 S&W for a while because 9mm is such a popular, NATO standardized round that is cheaper to shoot.
And in terms of this gun in a larger caliber; I don't think it'd work. This is a slim pistol. Nobody makes a slimline doublestack in 40 S&W for a particular reason: it wouldn't be slim.
I suggest you go full fudd instead of just 90s wannabe cop and get a 1911 if you want a slim gun in a caliber with more stopping power and hate capacity so much.

Why do these have such crappy trade in value?
Because the MSRP is very high relative to the price they end up selling for from distributors like Bereli, but most people aren't aware of this, so lots end up buying them for full MSRP or close to it.

@@hikeskool GunBroker is hit or miss, but I got a DR920 Elite for $755 on a GB auction. Also bought a DR920 Elite with a treaded barrel for like a trade of ammo and cash worth like $650 from a friend who won it at a match. Best bet for buying Shadow Systems pistols new seems to be Bereli, for some reason. They will frequently sell them at MSRP but include 500 rounds of ammo, etc. lots of undercutting the MSRP.
@hikeskool I paid 900 for my shadow systems and got 400 in a trade at the local shop. Dealer said they will have a hard time even selling it for their usual mark up because none of their customers know what that are.
