He never seemed jaded or cynical. I never heard him make a negative comment. He seemed like someone who was just perfect to host the countdown to the New Year because he seemed legitimately optimistic about the future and hopeful that things would always get better somehow not just in his own life but for life in general. Is there anyone like that these days?
I remember watching Dick Clark every year, even this past one since I was a little child. My goodness how the times move so quickly. May he rest in peace.
RIP, Dick Clark. Thank you for all the years, all the memories, for ringing in New Year's Eve with us every year, and for brining so much wonderful music into our living rooms and hearts. You were one of a kind, and you gave us memories which last forever.
A lot of things can be said about this man good and bad but I remembered he paid for Jackie Wilsons health care till he died, what a great and kind thing to do for another human being.
Dick Clark...you raised me on TV...I would watch u when I was little and the TV was my babysitter and American Bandstand was on...may your soul rest and we thank you for the great entertainment you gave us.
I grew up with Dick Clark, he had a encyclopedia knowledge of music, he had soothing, reassuring voice, it was cool to watch him on "Bandstand ", New Years Rockin Eve ", The Practical Jokes & Blooper Show ", he even made a cameo appearance on "Seinfeld ".
R.I.P DICK CLARK I'M CRYING AS I WRITE THIS U R ONE OF THE BEST I GREW UP WITH U AND U BROUGHT ME THROUGH SOME TRYING TIMES MAKING ME LAUGH AND DANCE AT THE SAME TIME WHEN I NEEDED IT MOST U WILL BE MISSED DEARLY. CONDOLONCES TO THE FAMILY
The greatest of all the greats!! Lots of memories from all his shows including his biggest 'American Bandstand" Thanks for all the enjoyment you brought to my life! RIP
it is also worth noting that the late Dick Clark also 'moonlighted' as the host of the Miss USA (1989-1993); Miss Universe (1990-1993); and Miss Teen USA (1988; 1991-1993) beauty pageants. As a matter of fact, the late Dick Clark was my favorite host of the Miss USA/Miss Universe/Miss Teen USA beauty pageants.
My grandpa was born in 1929 too. but he died in 1995 of Cancer. Bandstand was broadcast from the WFIL Studios at 46th and Market (the affiliate is now WPVI). the building still stands with a historical marker outside. It was labeled a National Historic Landmark.
Ah well, Dick is gone, and Casey Kasem too. I remember the disappointment when he moved Bandstand to LA, from Philly, which is near me. You had to be 16 to be on the show, and I believe he moved west when I was over 15. Of course, I would have embarrassed myself, 'cause I couldn't dance...not then, not now!
I asked Dick Clark for his autograph in 1963, I was 10, he said 'get away from me kid', my mom was with me. bandstand was great, but Dick Clark was a total asshole in real life.... What a real disappointment ...I still watched his show.
Why do great people have to leave us?............ P.S., Dick, you always made me happy and you taught me how to appreciate music... Maybe that's why I like music so much :)
I don't know him either because I'm not even American. But I saw and heard him on lots of videos and I appreciate him. So sad he died. I'm 17, by the way.
Bummer, I just learned (14, December, 2017)The Oldest Living Teenager is no longer with us. I watched ABS most every Saturday all through my youth. How did this news slip past me? RIP
His last new year show at abc was december 31st 2011 to january 1st 2012 and thats why theres no more commentator after december 31st 2012 to january 1st 2013 until now. Well atleast he enjoyed when the century changes. 1999 to 2000.
The reporter was a little misleading here. Dick Clark's company did NOT produce, "The $10,000/$20,000/$25,000/$50,000/$100,000 Pyramid" shows. Bob Stewart created and produced, "Pyramid", and Clark made it a point to say he was Stewart's employee. Dick Clark produced other games, like, "Greed", and produced, "The Challengers" with Ron Greenberg, but "Pyramid" was Bob Stewart's show.
Next it will be Casey Kasem I love that smooth voice of his Dang I was the only kid in my high school 5 years ago that cried when Don Knotts & Paul Harvey died it really just bites
New Years hasn't been the same since the passing of both Guy Lombardo & Dick Clark. I give Ryan Seacrest credit for continuing the legacy, but doesn't have the charisma that he had. I like both of them. I was blessed to see both of them.
Death is a part of life. Every time we see age of 60s-80s, people know that it's their time to go. Few people I think die after they reach 90. It's rare that people live in their 100s. You never know when people die, until you live every single day. We lost famous people throughout the years. Be grateful for your own health. Time travel was never real.
R.I.P. to Dick Clark we just brought 2020 in.
IkR 😥😥😥😥😔😔😔😔😔😣😣😖😖😖😫😫😫😩😩😩😭😭😭😭😭
@@socal3154 Yeah. So Sad He didn't see it.
Been the worst year ever. Coronavirus is way worse than 9/11 was. The entire country is in complete chaos with no end in sight.
@@MilesRobinson2001 I agree!
@@kobyschechter8163 It’s 2021 now, hopefully things will be better...
The end of an era..
The end of a legend.
"America's Oldest Teenager"....is gone.
Thanks for the Memories..
R.I.P.
It's so hard to believe that Dick Clark is gone forever. He indeed lived a long long healthy happy life.
Sadly, no.
he lived long enough to see the recording business die....
Sungodv and the recording business lived long enough to see HIM die..
Yep, he lived through the golden ages of music unlike you millennials
I remember watching Dick Clark every year, even this past one since I was a little child. My goodness how the times move so quickly. May he rest in peace.

Brining?
Thumbs up if you watched American Bandstand on TV back in the day!
Dick Clark...R.I.P...1929-2012
I wish he were to live at least until the start of the 2020s 😥😥😥😥😥
RIP Dick Clark,,, thank you for all the great Saturday mornings we will remember you always.
Spent my youth with his shows. He will be remembered. My condolences to his family. RIP, Dick.
Seemed as though his death wasn't recognized properly. His hand was in everyone's career. He was wonderful.
It just won't feel the same without Dick Clark on New Year's Eve. God Rest His Soul.
A lot of things can be said about this man good and bad but I remembered he paid for Jackie Wilsons health care till he died, what a great and kind thing to do for another human being.

One of the coolest celebrities I’ve ever met. Just very down to earth.
RIP Dick Clark, you will always be missed.
The iconic Dick Clark, forever young. Rest In Peace.
“Happy 2000 everyone!” -Dick Clark, 1999/2000
I'm sad that Dick Clark passed away.
Yeah, me too.
No matter how much Ryan Seacrest tries, he will never be the complete replacement of Dick Clark on Rockin New Years Eve. We miss you Dick Clark!!😡
Well Ryan got chosen
Seacrest is an empty shirt.
Omar and Adriana Is that supposed to matter? There's a lot of people that get chosen for things, that doesn't make them a good replacement
You got that right.
RIP, Dick Clark. I will forever miss those New Year's Rockin Eve's

I really enjoyed to watch his tv showtime for some years and miss his showtime!
