Thanks! Unfortunately a good dagger rogue does not even need to rely so much on his stuns to beat a non SL warlock. A rogue should never lose this matchup unless Living Action Potion is involved, yet the rogue should still win. The stun resistance from being an orc helps a lot, especially against the rogues who comes unprepared. A good rogue will sap into cheap shot with auto attack disabled. This ensures the rogue that if he resists, the sap is still applied. A good shadow reflector into damage spam can really be enough to kill us and yes, while Orc is helpful... it is not enough to beat a top end rogue, you also rely on a 30% chance to possibly win. In terms of superiority, Orc and Undead excel in different parts of PvP. I would not say one is better than the other in the bigger picture. I myself will be going Orc, its nice to have that stun resistance until Living Action Potions become available through Zul Gurub reputation in phase 4.

I was playing SL demo build on my lock in the later stages of the original wow and the only time I lost to a rouge was when they used 10 min cd preparation and cloak of shadows twice. I still could have won that if I sacrificed my vw for a shield with a quick re summon. vw passively gives u 10% physical dmg resistance which adds up to 40% with SL so no melee should be able to kill u. this build suck for dps but u are basically unkillable in 1 on 1 situations and duels against any class if u have decent gear@@Soulboundx1

Hi, what is name for that addon which changes your player frame, target frames, cast bar and buff/debuff under target frame, and maybe action bars too?
trying to decide on a ranged class for pvp looking mage, ele shaman or even warlock if they arent to hard to play in pvp what would u reccomend for bgs
hey, i'm happy I found your videos. I played warlock (mostly pve) in tbc and wotlk but want to go through vanilla with a pvp focus. That being said, I am being mindful that this is a first pvp experience for me on this class. I am undecided on faction. Is the alliance side solo pvp notably worse like people say or is the undead racial overblown? I would go orc on horde, for alliance not sure on gnome vs human (going into tbc)
Both factions are good. On alliance you have paladins whos really OP. But on horde u dont need to deal with undead, who can be annoying. But Dwarf Priests can also give their team mates and their self Fear Immune. In open world being horde can be abit easier, but in group pvp, being alliance lock feel better.
What unitframes are these and what is the combat icon addons that shows on the right of your target frame? Also what font do you use for your damage font? :D
so im caught up between running holy/shadow priest or lock. i originally played rogue for many years but it is too time consuming to both level and to grind money for. i love 1v1s and wpvp, even hosted tournaments on retro wow and henhouse. what do you think now that there is dual spec permitted in fresh? should i go shadow or lock, or just stick with what i know?
I say go with what you want. For PvP Orc is probably better because of their stun resist racial. It could sometimes be a win factor to have. Undead may have a slight edge in PvE but it's very niche. Their devour ability is good to use on cooldown to limit downtime and their extended underwater breathing can help kill time on certain quests that require you to take a dive but other than that, Orc aren't terribly far behind in PvE environment.
Pve almost whatever. Pvp : undead if you wanna have more chances against locks / priests. Orc if you wanna have more chances against rogues / warriors (particularly if they have the diamond flask and healing set). But immo, 95+% of rogues can't beat a good SL lock, even if UD. Only case can be a reflected death coil. But you could still helmet stun or grande to place immolate and then the other dots (+ shadowburns).
Decent gear in pvp : T0,5 (need to spam dungeons and grind gold ; you can get around 4k6 hp unbuffed and solid spellpower), then pvp gear is better and I'd say values the T1 or sometimes T2. And ofc T3 outscales everything.
Is going gnome warlock gonna be a complete pain in the ass PvP wise? I've played horde in Era, but I wanna go alliance this time - But I purely play pvp
Gnome is fantastic, my warlock main is a gnome. Since we struggle with mobility, having an escape to roots and slows is perfect. You also have paladins on Alliance, probably your strongest duo and the best class to keep you alive, better than anything a shaman could ever do for you.
Nice video like the Others. Do you have any information, if the debuff limit is removed on fresh normal servers? For hardcore fresh it is removed. Thx mate
If the debuff limits are removed, immolate and corruption will most likely be incorporated into our rotation in the fights that allow the full duration of those dots. I dont necessarily think our talent points will change much--if at all.
would love to play warlock but theres one thing they have i just cant get over it with my weird perfectionist ass, pet names xD it bothers me so much its insane.. specially if the pet name is bad lol
Haha i feel you. I once saw a warlock on retail recreating his character until he ended up with the same name as his imp. I suppose he had a list of imp names that were possible to get and kept recreating his character with that name until it lined up with the imp name. True dedication xD
In retail you can pay 50g to the demon trainer and they will give you another random name for your pet, so you can just reroll the names over and over until you find decent ones for all demons. In classic you just gotta try to ignore it
Really enjoyed the video. I have a question: in 2019, I started leveling a warlock and a sweatlord friend of mine suggested me to play hunter because, at 60, there were already a lot of locks. What you can say about it? And thanks again for the content.
I really can"t wait for Fresh, will you play EU or NA? i'm still not sure if i would go Hunter or Warlock, both seem to be a lot of fun in open world encounters, pvp wise. What is your take on hunter compared to lock?
I will be starting on EU. Im considering NA later on to play with my friends in Wooddepartment. Hunter is incredible, my first classic main. Its one of the strongest pvp classes, does incredibly well in solo and group pvp. The class kit itself might be simple, but It has a high mechanical skillcap. Hunter is one of those classes i have seen the highest skill difference in terms of bad and good ones. I specifically think Night Elf Hunter is extremely fun abusing Shadowmeld, watch Steelshots or Captains Hunter PvP and you will be amazed. Its not as strong as warlock in 1v1, their playstyle is very different and hard to compare. Id say watch some of my pvp videos and some of Steelshot/Captains hunter videos.
Im stuck between rogue/warlock. I wanna do 50/50 pve pvp and im mostly looking to do solo stuff. I havent played lock before and a bit scared about the soul shard thing. How annoying is it? Should i just go rogue and deal with a lot of competition for raid spots and gear? What are your thoughts. Loved the video, most informing one ive seen so far :)
Basically you lose 1 bag. Raiding is the most annoying where you'll need 40 shards to summon everyone. HS up the ass in competitive raids you'll be expected to give the entire raid HS. Plus in pvp you will run out of shards a lot faster. Playing a Warlock is very fun. You can tank dungeons up to sunken temple if your good. The drain tank leveling is amazing. Multiple specs viable in PVP.
Don't know about way higher, that's a lot more GCDs lifetaping as you will go oom faster if you apply ALL dots which I dont think are all worth putting on a boss.
What you see on the screen is mainly: Dominos for the action bars. Rougeui for the player frames. Kui Nameplates for the nameplates. Full Custom UI available for twitch subs on my discord channel.
I found your channel a few days ago, as I’m playing warlock for Fresh. I joined your disc but I can’t seem to find your beautiful UI settings. Where should I look?
I used to be a hunter main myself. Its hard mechanically to get used to the deadzone... but has very few spells, the pet management isnt as hard as the warlocks, since you only have 1 pet that isnt as complicated as 1 warlock pet. Your overall strategy in pvp matchups is very similar across all the matchups. Druid is also up there as one of the harder classes to pickup in pvp for sure.
I will roll alliance... My problem is I despise how gnome looks...... Human female ? Man I've always played horde... Which tips as alliance warlock? I'll roll on pvp server too ! Maximum challenge ! BUt I feel like it's worth it. I've lurked on your channel for a long time. You're one of the best warlocks I've seen. You remind me of Goth, Seuche and Elenoire.
Thanks! Gnome is for sure better than Human. But gnome is not what it used to be, there was a change to the gnome racial escape artist, it can now resist, this make it somewhat weaker than it used to be, but still better than Human. I don't think Human is a bad choice anymore. Human is also what you will want to be in TBC arena, so if you are planning ahead for TBC, human is another bonus choice.
The thing that infuriates me the most is that i like dueling alot outside capitals but i cant do that cause after a few duels i run out of shards and have to make the guy stop our fun and wait for me to go get more
@Soulboundx1 do you stop dueling and go farm shards or you keep doing it without shards?😅 seriously man having to farm shards even for dueling is a big letdown for me
Gnome: Best choice. Escape Artist (1-min CD) lets you escape slows/roots, which is game-changing in PvP. it can resist, which makes it not as good as it used to be. Human: Weak choice. Perception (stealth detection) is niche and has limited use for Warlocks. Good choice if planning ahead to TBC PvP.
So torn between hunter or warlock. Ive done warrior like 5 times now with private servers and 2017 classic. Wanting something fresh gonna be mostly focusing on ranking and just pveing each week for gear. Hmmmmmmmm, the idea of losing world buffs from hellfiring is kinda yikes.
@@landonperry9371 Shouldn't happen in a decent guild, hellfire dmg is way too low to pick up any threat from the warriors. Obviously still have to use your brain on some packs (spiders in naxx for example) but bop isnt gonna save you when you go from 100 to 0 hp
Do not worry, the population of warlocks most definitely increase, but it doesn't make it that much harder to find raid spots if that's what you are worried about.
If that is the case, immolate and corruption will most likely be incorporated into our rotation in the fights that allow the full duration of those dots. I dont necessarily think our talent points will change much.
GuideMMO made a vid yesterday called “5 BIG changes to classic fresh servers”. At 3:29 he mentions dual spec, but I didn’t hear him say these are changes he’d “like to see” when I watched the video 😅
Thats fair, we all have different tastes! Scarlet Raid sounds fun, i might level just to experience that, although im not a fan of the current and past state of SoD. It feels abit too retail-like and the community seems quiet dead for my personal taste.

Really enjoyed the video. I have a question: in 2019, I started leveling a warlock and a sweatlord friend of mine suggested me to play hunter because, at 60, there were already a lot of locks. What you can say about it? And thanks again for the content.
a lot more hunters than locks
Warlock for life
By far the best warlock guide out there, never seen someone explain the class depth as well as you!
I hope they raise the health of raid bosses to compensate for the debuff limit
Fresh servers won’t have debuff limit?
Is the rotation gonna be different with no debuff limit? Locks gonna be able to dot in raids?
Yea they can now use curse + corruption + siphon life + immolate + shadow bolt spam
the only difference now is you cast corruption, the other dots arent worth it esp in mc bwl
Won't the warlock rotation change drastically if they remove the debut cap? Their dps should be way higher too as result
Don't know about way higher, that's a lot more GCDs lifetaping as you will go oom faster if you apply ALL dots which I dont think are all worth putting on a boss.
@guigui5757 i expect to be pleasantly surprised, this will be a new frontier and I think locks will be the movement boss goats
@@jonathanw1106 it will be a light dps increase. The likes of 50 to 150dps depending on phase
holy moly batman soulbound speaking video? BOING
wha UI addons are those? very clean
What you see on the screen is mainly:
Dominos for the action bars.
Message me on discord or ask in general!
@@Soulboundx1will do, thanks.
SL WL is best pvp spec in vanilla in my opinion. Hybrid destro great for ganks/wpvp 1vs2-3
i feel we will see a lot more warlocks this time around since we know we are going into TBC where warlocks PUMP
Can you make a vid like this for hunter and mage?
Babe wake up Soulbound uploaded!!!
Im lock main and i think that playing Hunter and Druid corectly is MUCH harder.
Druid is also up there as one of the harder classes to pickup in pvp for sure.
good guide .i do some wsg with you
Are you going to play on the PvP server? I want to but I can't no life leveling so I'm afraid. What's your plan? I need a guild no buiddies playing.
Yes i will play pvp server. Warlocks are always in demand, a raid spot should not be hard to find as long as you can raid consistently on raid nights.
Good Warlock kill good Rouge?
Top vid , im british and soul speaks better english than me lol. BTW i taught soul all he knows =)
soulbound numba wan
Warlock is top tier DPS in TBC though....
That is true!
The thing that infuriates me the most is that i like dueling alot outside capitals but i cant do that cause after a few duels i run out of shards and have to make the guy stop our fun and wait for me to go get more
That is truly one of the most annoying parts as a dueler warlock...
@Soulboundx1 do you stop dueling and go farm shards or you keep doing it without shards?😅 seriously man having to farm shards even for dueling is a big letdown for me
Great guide! I will definitely not be playing warlock haha
For Ali human or gnome ?
Gnome:
Best choice. Escape Artist (1-min CD) lets you escape slows/roots, which is game-changing in PvP. it can resist, which makes it not as good as it used to be.
Human:
Weak choice.
Losing world buffs from hellfire?
@@Soulboundx1 Using hellfire as your source of AOE and being in mele with no bop as horde and just losing my buffs sounds anger educing.
@@landonperry9371 Shouldn't happen in a decent guild, hellfire dmg is way too low to pick up any threat from the warriors. Obviously still have to use your brain on some packs (spiders in naxx for example) but bop isnt gonna save you when you go from 100 to 0 hp
I want to play lock but worried about TBC where they become extremely popular
Do not worry, the population of warlocks most definitely increase, but it doesn't make it that much harder to find raid spots if that's what you are worried about.
Lock 4 Life! c u ingame
Orc or undead sir?
Both have their advantages. If you are like me and hate rogues with a passion... go Orc. if you are a tryhard Warsong Gulch player, i would go Undead.
@ ty for replying and for helping me decide. Means alot.

shards shards shards. No no no
Many keybinds? *Cries in shaman*
Shaman has nowhere near warlock keybinds xd
amazing video brother, maybe I will make a warlock after all
Why not! Its also a great class you can use for TBC next year :D
Don’t plan on playing lock or wow but watched the video nonetheless :)
try without tidal charm lol
They don't call me the Prince for no reason :)
I think they are getting rid of the debuff cap like they did in SoD. Does this mean dot spec will now be viable in raid.
If that is the case, immolate and corruption will most likely be incorporated into our rotation in the fights that allow the full duration of those dots. I dont necessarily think our talent points will change much.
gatekeeping stuff to subs okk
Does your Local shopping center gatekeep food?
Are you danish?
50% Danish :)
@@Soulboundx1 skud ud!
I heard we are getting dual spec in fresh
I doubt that, any links/source to this?
@ hang tight.
GuideMMO made a vid yesterday called “5 BIG changes to classic fresh servers”. At 3:29 he mentions dual spec, but I didn’t hear him say these are changes he’d “like to see” when I watched the video 😅
@@Bouldefeu2 I see. Well you never know what blizzard will do. They often do very random things. :D
@ blue post is up! Dual spec and no buff/debuff limits!
Thank you for me deciding to NOT roll warlock. Lmao
only a hand full of classes viable, constantly oom and zero rotation. classic classic is terrible no ty. sod all day.
Thats fair, we all have different tastes! Scarlet Raid sounds fun, i might level just to experience that, although im not a fan of the current and past state of SoD. It feels abit too retail-like and the community seems quiet dead for my personal taste.
