Good question! The ozone isn't removed from the water, but will naturally break down into oxygen on its own.

What happens if you do NOT unplug the power to the Freshwater Salt system when you do this? Can you run the system with BOTH at the same time, using Ozone to supplement the chlorine in the Salt system???

Great question.
It is a recommendation from Hot Springs to not run both systems at the same time.

I have a hot springs pulse. I had the salt system but want to change back to non-salt. Does this process need done with my tub ? Is there no ozonator at all in salt tubs?

Unfortunately the hot tubs do not come with Ozone preinstalled anymore. It does require a kit to make the change.
