As for the sound, Kanami did most of the mixing for the EP is what I've read.

The Ladies themselves will tell you they are not the best. They would be honored that you feel that way though. And they did use this song to open several of their performances and the EP itself.
And the Ladies are all about the song. They add solos to the song if the song needs it. If it doesn't serve the song, they don't add it. Since they were able to take control over their music, they have exerted more and more in the mixing and mastering in addition to the writing and arranging, they have been recording their parts individually at their homes and then sending them to Kanami for putting together.
The record company doesn't really do much to the product once Kanami is done.
They did that in Aftershock 2022 and as support for Guns 'n' Roses. They opened their set with From Now On.
They did play this live... and wow it is indescribable. I saw it played in Los Angeles and San Diego... they played this song flawlessly both times.
Kanami took the vocals in her own hands on this one.
They are streaming an upcoming concert. It is the Tokyo Garden Theater concert on 1/9/23. Information is on their website. Tickets will include watching/rewatching on an archive for 1 week or 1 month depending on the ticket bought. Sorry you had a troubling vacation, glad to see you back to reacting to Band-Maid. They are just perfect. Not the best j-rock band but the greatest rock band in the world. I can't wait to see them in concert again!

There is obviously a piano and synth in there as well as the four musicians. I expect that Kanami has recorded the piano and synth as she is a perfectly competent keyboard player.

Thank you for your reaction. It can't be helped because Japanese names are hard to remember. I'm Japanese, but it's been a long time since the Beatles that I remembered all the names of the members. Also, I remember TOTO. The common point is that it was necessary to remember and listen.

WRT BM, all of the girls are allowed to shine. No one member really predominates.
Rick Beato is famous for saying they're over compressed. I think not. If they were everything would be so squashed you couldn't hear everything distinctly, but you can. Everything is right there in your face! Over compressed, Rick? No, no they're not. And I agree about this being an Opener. This is the new 'Onset'. Kanami went home from the tour with a head full of ideas. Looking forward to some of that!
Can only decide based on the 2 CD I have, Just Bring It and Conqueror. They are more compressed than I would like. I have 4 blu-rays of theirs and have NO problems with the audio quality on them. Maybe the newer CD are less compressed?

I just checked your last one, and you were calling Misa Musu there, so that's where you were confused. Actually, Miku is known to have gone by Mika before she started Band-Maid, and I've read that she changed to Miku to avoid confusion with Misa, but I haven't found verification of that.
4:15 - Saiki is in the background drinking a beer and making funny faces at Kanami.
In Aftershock festival in Sacramento this was a first song in their playlist....Kanami is Miku´s Sensei in the group...
They have opened with this song at several festivals so far
Good reaction! Some would say that the mixing is sometimes not optimal on some of their recordings especially with Kanami's guitar pushed too far back on some of their live performances. However, the Maids themselves play flawlessly. The "From Now On" track's mixing seems to very well done and it sounds gorgeous. Another great instrumental is "Onset" where all the musicians get to do solos. All the Band-Maid members are uniquely talented and together are one of the very best, if not the best, Rock bands currently performing today.

I just found out a week ago that Otokobe Beaver is performing in my home state Hawaii. Checked out few of their songs and love their hardcore punk energy. Will see them live for $35. Can't wait.
