- An extract of a quarter peal of Grandsire Caters on the fine Taylor 10 at Maidstone, Kent.
The camera angle could be better and but overall are so rewarding when rolling and ringing at a good pace. The deep hums and aftertones are arguable at their best when ringing the front bells when the striking is very good.
Some might say that they are similar to Wigan; Wigan were cast in 1935 more or less to the same profile and same note, though are hung on bigger wheels. Some also might say that they are a copy of Wigan.
Thank you to Jake Reid for supplying the initial video.
Watching this during lockdown.... It nice to hear the familiar sound of bells again!!
Glorious bells - nice bit of striking. good listening. Thanks.
Lovely! Taylors at their best!
Little bell in ringing room may be rung sometimes, but i don't think that it rung along with the bells in the belfry. It may be a decoration, that i have seen in the Maidstone bell ringing game in Roblox.
Nice!
the bells are kept in very good nick by the looks of it!!
I should go to bellringing Like this but I only bellringing at St Martins salisbury
These are great sounding bells.
I love tens
So when are you going to turn some of these tenors in to some Royal???
steven rowe, thank you and same here. Hopefully some surprise royal soon!
@@ar_ringingvideos7428 loved your Worcester cathedral vid especially in the Belfry with Stedman Cinque.
Personally I find 10 is the best ,very rounded.
Often 12s are rung way to quick unless they are heavy.
Space them out to hear the bells
@@Steven_Rowe Thank you, when the hums and strike notes blend together in good ringing it is a joy to listen to and be part of.
Agreed, though depends on the ringing and the bells. Personally prefer a heavier ring on a higher number.
@@ar_ringingvideos7428 I agree and what I love about 10s and 12s is that it almost sounds like two different things going on
You can heat the back 5 but the front 7 seem to dance around and through them.
If you ring the tenor to Stedman you can almost drift off into a trance and just listen as if the world simply doesn't exist.
@@Steven_Rowe On the last Lilliputters Tour we managed double doubles and minor at Southover and East Grinstead! You can indeed, just don't go wrong!

interesting way of lowering!!
Hi there, would you recommend a camera for belfry footage around the £150 mark?
Hi Ringer Jamie, £150 should be fine, though I would check reviews first. What camera are you thinking of?
@@ar_ringingvideos7428 I was thinking of a go pro with good sound? A tad like yours.
@@RingerJamie Yeah, all modern GoPros manage sound very well. The Hero 7 black is excellent, just make sure you have sound set to stereo as it tends to muffle in and out otherwise.
some of the bells have thin wheels. why is that??
I don't actually know, though never noticed it. Might be the camera angle.
Ben, Im pretty sure all the wheels are the same. Which ones have thin wheels?
I still think wigan have the edge, particularly with the acoustics
