- Two-time Daytime Emmy-winning actor and enduring fan favorite, Steve Burton, chats with Michael Fairman for the Michael Fairman Channel on his recent role on the Peacock streaming series, "Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem Chapter Two". Burton reprises his first soap opera role as Harris Michaels in the Days of our Lives off-shoot limited-series and throughout the five episodes, Burton shares scenes with longtime beloved DAYS vet and icon, Kristian Alfonso (Hope). During this discussion, Burton shares what it was like taping: 'Beyond Salem', his key scenes, and getting the opportunity to work with the cast and crew from the NBC soap.
In addition, Steve opens up about his decision to not adhere to the ABC/Disney Covid-19 vaccine mandate, which ultimately led to him being fired from the long-running soap opera in the pivotal role of Jason Morgan - the part he played from 1991 to 2012 and then again from 2017 until the late fall of 2021. Steve shares his sentiments on his former GH co-stars including: Kelly Thiebaud (Britt), who just won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series, Laura Wright (Carly) and reiterates, how again, Maurice Benard (Sonny) was instrumental in his development as an actor and shares some behind-the-scenes details. While Steve, who has been in the news, has been faced a challenging year personally and professionally, he talks on how he gets through the hard times.

I’m sixty one and there are some people who should get the shots. Diabetics for example seem to take Covid bad. It’s funny Nancy wants everyone made to take shots! No choice! I miss Steve on GH too. But agree with him also. He is strong and standing firm on his beliefs and I am so glad. Many getting blood clots and worse from those pokes. One med doesn't fit all‼️ Everyone's body can react differently to meds. He didn't want it and shouldn't give in and shouldn't have to in order to hold onto his job. This is a true story. My daughter is in her twenties and in perfect health. She’s never been seriously sick even as a baby. Her bosses made her take first two shots. She threw up for two months off and on and said if this is permanent I don’t want to live! So she ended up in ICU with doctors trying their best to reverse the shots. There is something more in those shots than they are telling. So once they got her stable the doctor said Don’t take anymore of those shots! The nurses told us they were holding out because come on in my state our governor wasn’t having it. The nurses said we already told them if they make us take shots we quit! However my cousins husband died quick from it but he had diabetes real bad. I’m sixty one and had Covid twice. Both times my daughters boss gave it to her and she lives here. First time had slight cough and not much else but I vitamined up off Amazon. Second time I just lost taste. It can be deadly for certain people so it’s worth the risk.

Steve Burton ...you are a very rich man with your attitude of gratitude. I have been following this way of living since 1996. I had a tragic auto/semi accident in 2002..I walked away from it and I asked the universe what was next for me. Then the lawyer I hired FORGOT to file my lawsuit and I was only able to recover a small portion in a malpractice suit. Again I asked universe what's next. After 24 yrs of working in a financial institution I was let go due to accident and the LTD ins co said I should have gotten over the accident in a couple of months. I was not going to be a victim. I went for counseling. In 2005 a friend said I should try working in our local school district . I could only physically work 3-4 hrs a day. I landed a job as a lunchroom monitor in the high school ....that's where I was supposed to be..17yrs later I'm still there and sharing my positive attitude with the kids and living with an attitude of gratitude...your a very lucky man to have found this way......I practice like you do everyday too....I was granted SSD in 2011 due to accident in 2002....My body may not always agree with my life, but it keeps on going ....Blessings, love & light !

At 30:33 minutes in the video, on the left, let's remember actress Lindsey Pearlman, who passed away onlast February 18th (2022) at the age of 43 years old, had left two suicide notes before her body was found in a car parked near Runyon Canyon Park in Los Angeles. Lindsey had appeared “General Hospital” over two episodes aired in January 2020

As a vegan since 1976, naturally I refuse everything that come from animals, including what is tested in laboratories. I haven't had any vaccines, etc. since then neither, due to my vegan way of thinking and vegan way of life. All the persons that I know are very much aware that - for example - animal testing is a HUGE no for me at all times, and every single one of the persons that I know have respected my choice, since it is always the same year after year anyway,. Unlike Steve though, as a retired person, I remained in the house during the pandemic (which is not over yet!) , I did not miss not going out at all, as I'm very busy with tons of things in the house, and always. Steve has to have contact with others due to his work (soaps and concerts). I'm glad to know that his choice was respected by most people also. I'm glad to see Steve back doing soaps, and I hope that he will come with Bradford (Anderson) to Montréal (Québec) someday., I'd love to see them and hopefully meet them too. Peace is the key in these crazy times all over the planet... Ido respect the choice of everyone about anything in the world too. We are not born to all be exactly alike....

I disagree with Steve's position on vaccinations, having said that, he was such an integral part of GH, and his absence has left a hole in the characters he interacted with. I wish there was a way for GH and Steve to compromise, because I miss him more than I thought I would.
