My poodle can out learn and fetch your lab. I just lost my black lab this year. I got a poodle. I still miss my lab for the warm personality but that poodle is dam smart. All I can say is that I respect a hunter and his dog.

He's a seven times Grand Champion retriever, retired to stud after this show. I don't know if he's alive this many years later, but he was well pampered all of his life. He was borrowed for this episode.

They were originally hunting dogs, next to the border Collie, they're the most intelligent dog out there.

Poodles were bread for hunting . With that wiry hair they can go through thickets and briars very easy and they have a nose like a bloodhound.
