Very good video, you are having to do more to your Mini than I had to do to my Open Classic. Try soaking the labels on the panels with WD40, this loosens the glue and you can peel them off but make sure you do take them all off as they hold moisture and will rust where the labels are.

That was about the best video for that process I've ever seen.
The stickers come off with brake cleaner.

If you have gas welding gear i always used to gently heat the labels and scrape them off when the glue was softened i suppose you could use a hot air gun to heat the glue just the same , i always used a copper weld through primer on panels where i was welding but not probably likely to be able to get a finish topcoat of paint on the panel

Really enjoying your videos, your explanation for the fitting of panels is great. I use brake cleaners or degreaser to remove labels both works well.

Really enjoying your videos and the way you have filmed them, My tip is buy the spot weld drills rather than the spot weld cutters
as they are much easier to use and last longer, Self tappers work well in pulling panels together but Cleco clips from the aircraft
industry are a great welding aid frost restorations sell all of the tools i mentioned, I use a heat gun for the stickers as the peel off
in one go, I restore Jaguars & Minis for a hobby but like you i ran a one man business many moons ago lol. I will pass your channel
on to the mini community and my viewers as i really like the way you explain the repairs your doing, Cheers Dave

Good video, slow and steady wins the race. How many days have you set aside to get all the fab work done? And like Dave has mentioned, spot weld drill bits work a treat. And defo remove those heritage panel stickers.....

Cheers Karl, as many days as it needs tbh, it will be done when its done, our client is more than happy for us to be slow and steady and get it right than rush and bugger it up :)

Hi, What size drill bit do you use for the plug welds. Also what wire size do you use for welding them
