Michael then said to Paul "i'm going to buy your songs meaning the songs of Beatles!" Paul kinda thought he was kidding but eventually found out Michael did buy rights for Beatles's music. It's a complicated story that The Beatles didn't owned their own songs. Paul got butthurt and this caused some hard feelings between the two of them. Nowadays the circle is closed since Paul owns the rights.

I guess the idea for the video was probably for both Paul and Michael to have their woman partner in the video. Linda McCartney features prominently in the video, but I guess Michael didn't have a woman partner, so his sister was substituted instead (possibly a better option than Bubbles!)
