It's amazing that in the first video, the shot on 16 is with a 2 iron, and some of the most recent ones are with 8 irons. Times have certainly changed.
Interestingly, #16 is one hole that has actually become shorter since the old days. Although, they still would be hitting 3 or 4 irons at today's yardage so still a huge difference.
This is why I love golf. I stopped watching football because there's toouch hatred and abuse. In golf I find myself routing for literally everybody so I always leave with a smile on my face.
Yeah, but Curtis won the US Open that same year, so there's that. And he won it the next year ('89) too at Oak Hill where, in the second round there were FOUR aces on the 6th hole in one day, sadly none by Strange lol.
If he’s gonna throw it away throw it to a fan, not the bottom of a pond. What does Strange think he’s doing, paying the hole respect or something? I don’t get that at all, pretty stupid imo.
8:55 - In 35 years of being a casual golf watcher, I don't think I have EVER seen a ball hit another ball on the green. Not only have I now seen one, I've seen one then go into the hole, and not only have I seen one go into the hole, I've seen it go in as an ace. The fact that it was a Saffer who sank it makes it all the sweeter. :o)
People need to learn that you look at the other persons elbow, not the hand to get the aim right. I don't know why this works, but it really does. Especially if both are doing this. Still, it is quite amazing how these highly coordinated athletes can't land a high five.
They told you that it was 190 yards. He used the technology of the era, when most clubs had a higher angle. Why are you surprised what club he used when you were already given all the information? Or do you just not know anything and still decided to speak?
As beautiful as all of these aces are, they will never beat Louis Oosthuizen’s truly magical and memorable albatross 2 on the par five 2nd hole in 2012! Another thing is Louis must surely be the only player in Masters history to score a hole in 1, an albatross 2, an eagle/birdie 3, a birdie 4, a par 5, a bogey 6, and a double bogey 7 at Augusta National!
I love how you can see the improvement of camera work over the years, such as following the trajectory of the ball more efficiently and adding visuals. Although, a few of these shots look like Bugs Bunny assisted them. 😂
That hole 16 is becoming akin to pouring water into your bathtub, and then becoming utterly astounded that it's somehow managed to find it's way down the plug-hole!! I mean.....what were the CHANCES? Well actually.....the "chances" are quite high, so long as you get the "water" INTO the bathtub, and there are portions of that green that are just one BIG bathtub.
I love how the blonde lady is showing a ton of emotion with each incredible shot. I don't know if it's the same woman, but based on her reactions, I have to assume so. Note: she is in the last few years of the master's.
I think a hole-in-one should be one of the most exciting and rarest feats in golf, spanning decades of compilations, yet it still manages to make me want to nod off.
Absolutely crazy to see some of these names side by side. Legends of the game mixed with pros whose biggest claim to fame may very well be their Ace on 16.
I have a feeling a non American wins it this year. The last time the masters was played on April 11th to 14th with the year ending at 4 was 1974. Gary player won. In fact 5 international players have won the masters on April 11th to 14th. Player 74, Langer 85 woosnam 91,Faldo 96 and scott 2013.
@@deemaliciousI believe Fuzzy Zoeller was the only first time participant to ever win. Tall task for anyone. He definitely has the game but geez how can you not figure Scotty won’t be in the mix.
Is that the same lady jumping for joy ever since the 2016 Masters?. Just to the right when the camera focuses on the golfer. I swear it is, she jumps the same way everytime
4:03 we are gathered here today to honor a great man who has recently passed, Kirk Triplett. He suffered a major heart attack after making a hole in one at the Masters.
That surface was easy to hit whole in one. All you need to do it land the ball at the higher part of the surface and it will rolls down into the whole.
Curtis Strange throwing a hole in one ball at 12 into water at Rae's Creek is reason there hasn't been one since. golfing gods didn't like that resulting in the current drought...
Starting in 2016 there is a blond woman spectator on the 16th who is sitting directly behind the tee box who appears in many of the shots here. She usually jumps straight up and down cheering the Ace's. Who does she know to have such a great seat for years? I thought the tickets were by lottery? She looks to have seen about 8 -10 holes in one on 16.
I’m now irrationally convinced I could hit a hole-in-one on 16.
The gravitational pull is stronger than that of the largest black hole in the known universe. For the views.
It's amazing that in the first video, the shot on 16 is with a 2 iron, and some of the most recent ones are with 8 irons. Times have certainly changed.

And this is why aces have become more common there.
That’s for sure
Plus everyone knows what kind of shot can get you a hole in one on Sunday so the entire field steps up and tries it
@@Noah-hd2jeNicklaus hit a 6 iron back in 86, I think.
Getting a hole in one at The Masters has to be one of the greatest feelings ever.
Getting a hole in one anywhere would be pretty awesome.

23 holes-in-one at the 16th (as of 2022)!
Seems like this would be the record for most aces on a single hole at any course on the PGA tour.
Hmmmm, it's almost like maybe the green is funneled so that happens with regulatory
The announcer in the first clip sounds like me when I'm forced to talk to family I haven't seen in decades.
It’s a voiceover
1:01 “Throbbing intensity”. I can’t believe he said that without laughing.
Everything he said was such a burn, I genuinely laughed. The bone dry delivery makes it.

Acing 12 at Augusta and not keeping the ball is crazy lol

Brysons ace is just incredible.. His first ever hole in one and it arrives on a sunday at the Masters
Legend has it that Kuchar tipped his caddy $.50 for the accomplishment.
That much? Wow! 😂
Legend has it Kuchar asked them to erase the tape so he wouldn't have to buy drinks.
And asked for change
I wonder why the caddy just doesn't hit a hole in one himself. I bet he isn't the only caddy to say hit it right of the stick on 16 lol
The announcer says “Bedlam!” after the second one, but the people are mostly just applauding normally. How times have changed!
"Throbbing intensity"
Must have happened on the 6th of January.
Some of the worst high fives ever captured on camera.
Shame really, because most of the holes in one here were pretty awesome, only to be spoilt by that, nice video regardless
