    Jordan never developed anything? Really?
He was an athletic high-flying highlight reel early on in his career.
People started calling him a ball-hog.
He became defensive player of the year.
People said, "But he couldn't win a ring!"
Won 3 straight championships WITHOUT a team of at least 3 superstars.
His father, who supported him throughout his career, got murdered.
    He retired.
Bulls couldn't win a ring without him, despite his co-star Pippen's best efforts.
Team was starting to fall apart before he came back and won 3 straight championships.
As his athleticism faded, he turned into a technical player who clamped down on his opponents on defense and played mind games and shot smooth fade-aways on offense.
When he entered the league, fans, coaches and players alike called him phenomenal.
When he left, people called him the GOAT.

A lot of people are reasonable enough to admit that their favorite player isn't the GOAT, and they still support their favorites through thick and thin.

How MJ was able to pull that stinking pile of sht up to multiple championships is sort of a miracle. It took time to develop them and the team into a cohesive world beating unit, but MJ stuck with it, didn't make excuses, paid his dues, didn't ask for teammates to be traded or other stars to join, took the rocky path to the top, made it, and stayed there.

Blame the refs, blame the competition, but never blame LeBron James for any negative stain on his legacy.
This is the line of thinking that makes me think most LeBron fans are delusional.
If Jordan messed up, I'd blame him.
He messed up in that series against Shaq and Penny's Magic.
He missed a lot of game-winning shots as well.
And yet, despite all this, he's still the GOAT.
Why? Because Jordan played his heart out every single night on both ends of the court and produced results far more impressive than anyone in NBA history.

This video isn’t necessarily bagging on LeBron, it’s just showing the huge difference between the two. LeBron gets way more attention because he plays in an era where the media overhypes certain players for views and for monetary gain. Look I’m not saying LeBron is bad by any means. He’s one of the greatest basketball players I have ever watched in my life but comparing him against a player who truly was pretty much great at all aspects of the game just doesn’t make any logical sense. I believe that unfortunately these days people bring emotions into most arguments and that is why they are never resolved. If you can replace emotions with sound logic then you can see a huge difference of perspectives both in the basketball world but also in the everyday world that we live in.

You say it’s the TEAM winning and yes, but if you actually watch Jordan’s games, you would see that he’s the one scoring and keeping the Bulls in the games. He wills the team to win. His scoring and defensive effectiveness only INCREASED the deeper he got in the playoffs and the later it got in the fourth quarter. It was truly insane and maddening to watch as a Knicks fan. He was a Knicks killer. Pacers killer, etc. Those dudes would have won rings if not for Jordan. He kept the Bulls in games they should have lost. Watch a few of the series if you have time. Just when the other team was leading in the series, Jordan would make a steal, hit a tough jumper and make a clutch assist. Every other game he was doing this. ❤

Winning and accomplishments are SUPPOSED to be different because counter-examples exist, namely Robert Horry with 7 rings and Wilt Chamberlain with his records.
Robert Horry won a lot of rings, but he didn't have the accomplishments the best player on a team would get.
Wilt Chamberlain set a lot of records, but his dominance didn't translate into winning a lot of championships.
As for statistics and longevity, they must ALSO be differentiated due to how the total amount of a certain stat can be misleading to a player's true capabilities.
Stockton has the most assists of all-time, but is not considered the best passer of all-time.
Magic Johnson got 10,000+ total assists while John Stockton got 15,000+ total.
Why is it then that Stockton is not considered the best playmaker of all time?
    The reason is simple.
Stockton beats Magic in longevity alone.
In terms of accomplishments, winning, statistics AND the 'Eye Test', Magic beats Stockton as a playmaker.
Take off the bias and it's clear as day.
    Michael Jordan is the GOAT.

Then when he started leading the league in scoring they said you can't win a chip while scoring like that. Then he learned to play off ball in a system with tex winters and Phill Jackson and learned to lead the league in scoring and win chips. From 84-93 he was alien with his athleticism. From 95-98 he got a little slower but "evolved" into a pure shooter, post player, with back to the basket, footwork, spacing, fadeaways and high IQ. And won 3 more rings playing that way. To be clear. The referees are calling them, because the NBA changed the rules after Jordan retired. Games were scoring very poorly because of how dominant the defensive players could be under the old rules so the NBA changed the rules to try to make games more exciting with higher scores. The 3 second rule did not exist in Jordan's career which allowed defenders to stay longer than 3 seconds in the free throw lane (the paint). Which is why its easier now to get into the 0-3 foot range of the basket as defenders aren't allowed to remain there. Then in 2005 hand checking was made illegal. This made it harder for defenders to predict the direction an offensive player was going to turn as they could no longer feel the players body change direction. Lebron might have been as good as he is now playing with the same rules that Jordan did, but one reason why many players back then had shorter careers was because of how aggressive the game was under the basket. Blown out knees and ankles were common for players who took nasty falls. You kept mentioning 'Team, that a Team thing or stat'. Well, Jordan built the Bulls. He pushed and trained and made his team mates better. Pippen and the other would not have become the players they were if it weren't for Jordan pushing the Bulls so hard. Leadership is an attribute of the best in all fields. Basketball is a Team sport.

He played 1,072 games in 15 seasons.
LeBron is still playing at age 38.
He played 1,408 games in a span of 20 seasons so far.
In terms of accomplishments, Jordan did more than LeBron in less time.
In terms of legacy, Jordan did more than LeBron in less time.
In terms of GOAT status, Jordan has more to show for it than LeBron in less time.
Playing more games doesn't necessarily weaken someone's argument for GOAT status, but it also doesn't necessarily strengthen it.
If I have to choose between a guy who can paint my house wonderfully within a short amount of time and another guy who can paint my house almost as wonderfully within a longer period of time, I won't pay them the same amount.
The guy who produced better results in a shorter amount of time should be paid a higher salary.
The player who produced better results in a shorter amount of time should be given the GOAT status.
